The Ugly Noo Noo at The Drama Factory

The Ugly Noo Noo, written and performed by Andrew Buckland and directed by Janet Buckland, is a one-man show that tells the story of a man's encounter with the notorious Parktown Prawn. Using satirical commentary and physical performance, the play explores the relationship between fear and power through the lens of suburban life. First performed in 1988 at the Market Theatre, the work went on to receive 17 national and international awards, including a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival. This season at The Drama Factory marks a celebration of the play's enduring place in the South African performance canon, running May 6–10, 2026.
