A Double Feature written by local Playwrights! The Premiere Premieres will feature two one-act plays written by local playwrights and selected in July 2022 after a free and open to the public one-day stage reading festival. The Premiere Playhouse will then professionally produce both winning plays which will allow us to show off the creative and diverse talent we have in our community.
The Premiere Playhouse (TPP) will open their third annual production of The Premiere Premieres, a culminating performance run of their year-long Premiere Playwriting Program in the historic Orpheum Theater of downtown Sioux Falls.
The Premiere Playhouse, a non-profit theatre organization based in Sioux Falls has opened their inaugural production of The Premiere Premieres at the Belbas Theater in the Washington Pavilion. The performance was a culmination of a year long, three phase new play development program and included plays by local playwrights: Broadly Speaking... And Other B.S. (Act 1) by Nancy Tapken, Beth Olsen, Julie Haddock-Sauer, Jill Johnson, and Sue Martens as well as The Theater at Night (Act 2) by Mo Hurley.
The Premiere Playhouse has teamed up with Joe Obermueller and Kevin Cole, faculty members at the University of Sioux Falls, to bring Sioux Falls the Festival of New Plays!
Audiences are in for a treat with this exciting lineup of familiar titles, plus TPP's most recent endeavor: a showcase of local playwrights' work that are selected through an adjudicated new play festival. All performances take place at the Orpheum Theater, with the exception of The Premiere Premieres which debuts in the Belbas Theater of the Washington Pavilion.
