Watch Monkey King ?????and the other characters including, Xuanzang and Zhu Bajie, from the classical Chinese epic, Journey to the West, come alive as Journey to the West – Treasures from the Dragon Palace returns to F.Y.I for the second time. Back by popular demand, this puppetry performance tells the legendary story of the famous Monkey King through an array of traditional hand puppets and puppetry techniques.
Follow the powerful but rebellious Monkey King as he goes on a quest around the Earth and the Heavens to hunt down his perfect weapon for fending off evil. The audience will be invited to participate in an interactive hands-on segment to learn more about the evolution of traditional hand puppetry and its techniques.
Journey to the West – Treasures from the Dragon Palace will introduce pupils to traditional Chinese hand puppetry through the legend of the Monkey King.
Ages: Recommended age group: 8 – 10 yrs old
