For the wounded soldiers of WW1, imagination is their only escape. Yet as they're transported to the fantastical lagoons and pirate ships of Never Land, allegories of the war they've left behind are ever present. George Llewelyn Davies, later killed in action in 1915, was one of the children who inspired J. M. Barrie to create the iconic character of Peter Pan. Remembering him, and a generation of Lost Boys, the production enchanted young and old alike during its original, critically acclaimed run.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's revival of their 2015 Olivier Award-nominated production, Peter Pan launches the 2018 season in the final year of the First World War Centenary Commemorations.

MOLASSES IN JANUARY, an original new musical about a struggling family of Italian immigrants who are literally swept up in the Boston Molasses disaster of 1919, will make its full Off-Broadway premiere on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 and have an open run in the Anne Bernstein Theatre at The Theater Center.

Meet the Cast and Creative Team of Pan Asian Repertory Theatre presentation of the world premiere of the new play Daybreak by Joyce van Dyke (A Girl's War). Directed by Lucie Tiberghein (The Pavilion), the six-member cast will feature Melis Aker (Manar), Nicole Ansari (Rock 'n' Roll), Robert Najarian (Sleep No More), Angela Pierce (Oslo), Michael Irvin Pollard (The Apple), and Tamara Sevunts (The Good Girl). Performances begin Saturday, April 21, 2018 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 13, 2018 at The Beckett Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street). Opening Night is Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7:30 p.m.

Further evidence that Yiddish is suddenly hip in 2017 was on flashy display last night at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, as the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene welcomed a diverse and eclectic crowd to celebrate mothers and the mother tongue in grand style. Prominent producer Daryl Roth and nine other women trailblazers in the arts, sciences, business and philanthropy were honored, and a dazzling all-female cast performed one showstopper after another. The evening's mother hen was the fabulous four-time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh, who delighted the audience with her funny and peppery mix of wisdom and heartfelt cheerleading for the Jewish mothers attending and for the Jewish mother in all of us.

 Artists Repertory Theatre is thrilled to present The Skin of Our Teeth, a timeless comedy by Thornton Wilder that has amazed audiences for generations with its unique theatrical style, huge, and not always human, cast and an epic story that spans centuries. The Skin of Our Teeth is a play in three acts, Artists Rep's production will include 3 to 10 Community Guest Stars in walk-on roles for every performance and will employ multimedia projections, live video feed and a cornucopia of masks.

Today, NYC Parks celebrated the centennial of one of the City's crown jewels, an artwork of worldwide significance, as well as a community landmark, its first-ever erected statue of a woman -- The Joan of Arc Memorial in Riverside Park -- with a birthday gathering in its honor. Westport Country Playhouse commemorates the centennial year of playwright Arthur Miller (1915-2005) with one of his last works, BROKEN GLASS, helmed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, playing now through October 24. Set in 1938 Brooklyn at the time of Nazi Germany's Kristallnacht (The Night of Broken Glass), the powerful drama incites a dangerous game of concealment, suspicion, and lies. Recent RADA graduate Freddie Stewart has been cast in the title role in Shakespeare's HENRY V, in a site-specific production that marks award-winning Antic Disposition's 10th anniversary. Antic Disposition has won critical acclaim for staging visually striking productions in spectacular historic buildings, including Middle Temple Hall. HENRY V, boasting a joint British and French cast, will be staged in London's ancient Temple Church from tonight 24 August - Saturday 5 September 2015. At the end of each year, the Cleveland Critics Circle meets to select the winners of that year's performance awards as well as to deal with matters of importance to area theatres. At the session which brought to a close the 2014 season, I mentioned that Fran Heller, who was a member of CCC at the time, had proposed several years ago that the group nominate the Cleveland Play House for The Regional Tony Award. It had been agreed that the timing was probably not right as CPH was adjusting to its new home in the PlayhouseSquare area and a new Artistic Director was coming on board.

Sunday 15 March marks the centenary of the date that George Llewelyn Davies died in action during the First World War. George was the eldest of the Llewelyn Davies children and, along with brother Michael, was one of J.M.Barrie's favourite boys who inspired him to create the characters of Peter Pan and the lost boys. To honour this pivotal date, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre in association with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, releases images from the J.M. Barrie archive, including the last letter written to Barrie by George Llewelyn Davies from the trenches the day before his death at the age of 21.

Arthur Miller's intense drama, raising questions of morality and the limits of family ties, promises to be a special opening production for Raven's 2014-2015 season. Headlining the cast will be Chuck Spencer and JoAnn Montemurro as Joe and Kate Keller. These two Raven ensemble members, who earned accolades for their work as Willy and Linda Loman in Miller's Death of a Salesman and as Victor and Esther Franz in his The Price, will play Joe and Kate Keller. Raven first produced All My Sons in 1990 and they appeared in that production as well, playing George Deever and Ann Deever.

In their attempt to delve into history, they struggle with stereotype, fear and their own personal histories, uncovering the potential for brutality in all of us. Joseph Stern and The Matrix Theatre Company present the West Coast premiere of a brave, chilling and very funny new work by Jackie Sibblies Drury. 'We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South-West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915' opens today, June 8. Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! MET Associate Artistic Director Gene' Fouche' directs Patrick Barlow's adaptation of John Buchan's 1915 novel and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock which opened on Broadway in 2008 and won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. The show which The New York Times called, 'theatre at its finest' and the New York Post raved was, 'the most entertaining show on Broadway' ended its New York run after three years and record setting number of performances for a comedy, 1,135.
