Broadway Dance Lab announced today that it has awarded creation grants to choreographers Hope Boykin, Jessica Hendricks, and Nicholas Ranauro, as part of the company's Fall 2018 Cycle. The grantees will each be gifted 20 hours of rehearsal time and a company of 12 professional dancers, to be used in the development of new work. The Cycle will run Oct. 15 - Nov. 17, and will culminate with an informal showing of the new works-in-progress.

When I read that Studio Theatre would be presenting playwright Steven Levenson's IF I FORGET I was very excited. Why? Levenson won a Tony Award for his great book for hit musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Then I read the play won the Drama Desk Award for Best Off-Broadway play at the Roundabout Theatre in New York (see their informative study guide). Then when I saw what the play was about I really got excited.

For his inaugural season as Principal Conductor of Orchestra of St. Luke's, Bernard Labadie has curated a three-concert residency at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage-marking the 32nd year of the OSL series at Carnegie Hall-with a focus on the music and influence of Joseph Haydn. The first concert on Thursday, October 25 at 8:00 p.m., which pairs Haydn's "Nelson Mass" with Mozart's Requiem, K. 626 (revised and completed by Robert Levin), marks OSL's first collaboration with La Chapelle de Quebec, the choir founded and directed by Maestro Labadie. Soloists joining the ensembles on stage include soprano Lauren Snouffer, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, tenor Lothar Odinius, and bass-baritone Philippe Sly.

Dave Matthews Band have announced a 10-city arena tour kicking off on November 27 at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH. The east coast trek will include a two-night stand at New York's famed Madison Square Garden on November 29 and November 30 as well as two hometown shows in Charlottesville, VA at John Paul Jones Arena on December 14 and December 15. A portion of proceeds from the John Paul Jones shows will go to support the redevelopment of public housing in Charlottesville.
