In '101 Reasons why it's Great to be Single' Karleen Dee, a freelance writer from North Vancouver, battles the negative connotation of singleness. She discusses the notion that society has somehow created the perception that singleness is bad; that being a single female means there is something wrong with you.
After a fourth relationship ended, Karleen found that instead of support and encouragement, she received looks of pity, patronizing comments, and suggestions on where to meet someone new. She even found that the magazine articles she read targeted this relationship status in the most patronizing way possible.
Karleen Dee decided that society's view of singleness missed the mark, and that this negative connotation of singleness was wrong. In her book '101 Reasons Why it's Great to Be Single' Karleen reminds the reader that single women learn faster, discover ourselves more deeply and are overall happier and more content with life when single, than when in a relationship with another human being.
This January, Karleen put pen to paper and with a humorous, intellectual flare composed '101 Reasons Why it's Great to Be Single.' This book is now available on major online retailers such as Amazon, Authorhouse, Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million.
