Choir is a six-part documentary series that follows the kids of the Detroit Youth Choir and their choir director, Anthony White, as they prepare for their next big performance. Showcasing the passion, perseverance, and performances of the DYC, docuseries director Rudy Valdez beautifully captures the heart and work it takes to be a part of the Detroit Youth Choir.

The Met celebrates the new year with a new production of Bizet's Carmen by acclaimed English director Carrie Cracknell, opening on Sunday, December 31, at 6:30PM. In her highly anticipated Met debut, Cracknell reinvigorates the classic story of deadly passion with a staging that moves the action to modern day and explores themes that could not be more relevant today: gendered violence, abusive labor structures, and the desire to break through societal boundaries.

Cleveland Play House presents a reimagined adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, a haunting and highly theatrical adaptation of the classic horror story. Just in time for Halloween, this sensual, poetic adaptation by David Catlin currently running through November 12 in the Outcalt Theatre, located in the heart of Playhouse Square. The upcoming Broadway production of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS has dropped the first original song from the show’s composers, PigPen Theatre Co. The songwriting team of WATER FOR ELEPHANTS performs “Anywhere” in this new music video.

On Sunday night at the 76th Annual Tony Awards, Carolyn Downing took home a Tony Award for 'Best Sound Design of a Play' for her outstanding work on Life of Pi (currently running at the Shoenfeld Theatre). After leaving the stage at the United Palace, Carolyn checked in with BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge to share her initial reaction!

American Repertory Theater presents Gloria: A Life, presented in association with the McCarter Theatre Center and by special arrangement with Daryl Roth. Written by Tony Award nominee Emily Mann (Having Our Say, Still Life) and directed by Tony Award winner Paulus (Jagged Little Pill, The White Card), performances of the Off-Broadway hit begin Friday January 24, 2020 at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, MA. The production opens officially on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Due to one week of added performances, it will now close Saturday, March 1, 2020.

From Shakespeare to Shepard, Tennessee Williams to Arthur Miller, Broadway was brought to life this year with not only revivals of today's classics, but with new plays that will surely be tomorrow's classics. On September 7th, 'Live from Here with Chris Thile' aired its season four premiere, with special guest stars Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Natalia Lafourcade. Gyllenhaal performed an excerpt from his Broadway show, 'Sea Wall/A Life.' Watch it below!
