Rasheeda Speaking features RTE Artistic Director Tara Mallen and Steppenwolf Ensemble member Ora Jones and runs today, January 9 - February 15, 2014 at Rivendell's performance venue, 5779 N. Ridge.

Columbia Stages will present THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR, the 2014 MFA Actors' thesis production, an adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's Russian classic by Jeffrey Hatcher, directed by Jesse Berger. THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR will open at 3LD and run from tonight, November 13-16 and 20-23.

New this year, the opening night concert will befree, in the David Rubenstein Atrium, on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. These performances will be broadcast nationally beginning in Spring 2014. In addition, American Songbook concerts taking place in the Stanley H. (Boston) Celebrity Series of Boston will present Bela Fleck's Banjo Summit tonight, October 10, 2013, at 7:30pm at Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall, Harvard University, 45 Quincy Street, Cambridge.

Seven of the world's greatest five-string banjo players will stop Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Jorgensen Center on the UConn campus to hold a "New York Banjo Summit" that ranges from solos and duets to full-tilt banjo blowouts. These experts have united for a limited East Coast tour to perform with an acoustic band in conventional and unexpected ways and covering the traditional bluegrass and old-time country to the more progressive jazz, classical and rock genres. The show starts at 8 p.m.

MIRANDA SINGS! is an Internet character created in 2008 by American comedian, actress and singer Colleen Ballinger. Delivered with a sassy attitude, Ballinger displays videos of the comically talentless, egotistical and quirky character on her youtube channel. On these videos, the character sings badly and rants about her critics, the 'haters'. Ballinger also featured the character on a second youtube channel, where the character is popularly known to discuss a topic or gives a tutorial of the day. Recently the well-liked character made her television debut on the show Victorious.

Directed by Tea Alagic from the English translation by Gitta Honegger, Jackie opens tonight, March 5, at 7:30pm at Women's Project Theater's new home, New York City Center Stage II, 131 West 55th Street.
