Montana is a theatre designer from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His grandmother, a lampshade artisan, inspired an early love of fabric, color, and beauty. Montana is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M. Oboe Performance), Oberlin College (B.A. History), Brown University (M.A. Public Humanities), and the Yale School of Drama (M.F.A. She was born and raised in New York City, where she began her career in the arts at a young age.
