He has also worked extensively off-Broadway and at most of the nation's leading resident theaters. He has been awarded the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics' Circle, Lucille Lortel, Obie, and Callaway Awards for his productions. CHRISTINE JONES is a Tony-award winning set designer and the Artistic Director of the critically acclaimed Theatre for One, a portable private performing arts space for one actor and one audience member. Born in Illinois in 1955, Van Tieghem began his career as a percussionist and composer, but quickly expanded his talents to include acting and choreography. Van Tieghem's Broadway debut came in 1983 with the musical "The King and I," in which he played the role of Lun Tha. He also served as the production's percussionist and music arranger.
