When Goodman Theatre opened its doors in fall of 1925, its first audiences were treated to ground-breaking new plays; now, one hundred years later, Chicago audiences are first to experience two world-premiere productions that launch the theater’s milestone Centennial 2025/2026 Season.

In “Mrs. Warren’s Profession,” playwright George Bernard Shaw tells the provocative story of a former prostitute turned madam who struggles to find peace with her disapproving daughter and prove that working as a prostitute is not the result of questionable morals, but rather a profession chosen out of economic necessity.

Full principal casting has been announced for the upcoming major revival of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession, directed by Dominic Cooke.

In the fourth week of Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival 2023, crowd-favorite Dorrance Dance returns July 19-23. The week will also feature several performances on the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage, including Seán Curran Company & Darrah Carr Dance on July 19-20, a world premiere by Mythili Prakash on July 21, and The School at Jacob's Pillow on July 22. The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced that based on the recommendation by the American Theatre Critics Association, Pasadena Playhouse, in Pasadena, California, will be the recipient of the 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award. Orpheus, Eurydice, a trouble-making horse and Death herself converge in a very funny and irreverent reimagining of the Greek myth by surrealist poet, playwright and filmmaker Jean Cocteau. Deaf West Theatre views Cocteau's whimsical, magical and highly visual play, first performed in 1926, through a unique lens: translated from the French into Spoken English by John Savacool, into American Sign Language by Andrew Moore, and slated for a run at the True Colors Festival in Tokyo, Japan at the end of April. Deena Selenow directs Orphée in a visiting production at the Odyssey Theatre, opening March 13 for a four-week run through April 5. Three low-priced previews are set for March 8, March 11 and March 12.
