Ensemble Connect Presents Audience Engagement Intensive

After a successful launch of the pilot program in summer 2017, Ensemble Connect once again presents the week-long Audience Engagement Intensive (AEI) from June 4–11 in Carnegie Hall's Resnick Education Wing. Seven pre-formed chamber ensembles selected from across U.S. and Canada—ranging in styles from classical to contemporary to folk music—come together to learn from leaders in the fields of performance and audience engagement. The eight days of tuition-free workshops are modeled after the training that is provided to Ensemble Connect fellows and is aimed at strengthening their ability to connect with all kinds of audiences. The ensembles are The Raritan Trio (New Jersey), Sprig of That (Minnesota), Catharsis Winds (Ohio), Kahlo String Quartet (formed in Mississippi), Trio Gaia (Massachusetts), Front Porch (Michigan), and Genesis Trio (Vancouver, Canada).

In the experimental dance festival of the Hong Kong Dance Company 8/F Platform XI for two consequent weeks in December, dancers from the Hong Kong Dance Company, Scarecrow Contemporary Dance Company (Taiwan) and JJbro (Korea), escape from the World Wide Web to define WHO WHEN WHERE in real life. 8/F Platform XI A Time Traveller's Note will be staged on 8-9, 15-16 December at Sheung Wan Civic Centre Hong Kong Dance Company's 8/F Platform.

Signature Theatre has announced that the 'World of the Play' series continues with a panel of experts discussing The Practice and Performance of Kung Fu, presented in conjunction with the world premiere of David Henry Hwang's Kung Fu, on Saturday, March 29th from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The event is free and open to the general public (no reservations required).

Signature Theatre has announced that the World Premiere of David Henry Hwang's new play KUNG FU, directed by Leigh Silverman with choreography by Sonya Tayeh, will get a two week extension and now play through Sunday, March 30. The production begins performances on February 4 and officially opens on February 24, 2014 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Limited $25 subsidized tickets remain for the production's initial run through March 16. Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.

Join in the celebration as the New York Chinese Film Festival returns for its 4th annual outing of presenting the best in Chinese cinema.
