Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2015-16 season and its commitment to the creation of unforgettable new plays with the WORLD PREMIERE of Blueprints to Freedom: An Ode to Bayard Rustin, written by and starring Michael Benjamin Washington and directed by the critically acclaimed Lucie Tiberghien. This story is more than relevant. It's riveting. Those who stand up for equality in 2015 are following in the footsteps of Bayard Rustin, the lesser known but powerfully influential civil rights leader who orchestrated the March on Washington and stepped forward himself as an openly gay man at a time when few had the courage to do so. In this ode, an exiled Rustin masterminds 'a tribute to the ancestors' 100 years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This exciting production begins Friday, Oct. 16 and runs through Sunday, Nov. 15 at KC Rep's Copaken Stage in the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

The world premiere of Salome opens the Shakespeare Theatre Company's 2015-2016 Mainstage Season and marks the Company's entry in the Women's Voices Theater Festival. The production runs October 6-November 8, 2015, at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW).

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade will present the seventeenth annual presentation of The Pumpkin Pie Show, with stories written by master storyteller Clay McLeod Chapman and performances by Chapman and downtown superstar Hanna Cheek. The production will run tonight, September 24, through October 10 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8pm.

A new musical co-production written by Paul Higgins and Deacon Blue singer and songwriter Ricky Ross and directed by Dominic Hill will be premiering at the Citizens Theatre this autumn. The Choir will be the first production to emerge from a partnership between The Citizens Theatre and Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), which was launched to create brand new musical theatre using the talent of local writers and composers.

The Michael Grandage Company presents the UK premiere of Anna Ziegler's Photograph 51. English Touring Theatre and Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse today announce the full cast for the world premiere of their co-production of The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead. The production reunites Simon Armitage and Nick Bagnall after their recent collaborations on The Last Days of Troy and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.
