As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Doris Roberts, best known for her Emmy-winning role on the sitcom EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, passed away Sunday, April 17, in Los Angeles. She was 90 years old.

Jude Law stars in GENIUS, based on A. Scott Berg's National Book Award-winning biography, Max Perkins: Editor of Genius. Directed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Grandage (REDS), the film hits theaters June 10th.

North Carolina Theatre, the region's premier nonprofit professional regional theatre, just announced full casting for their eagerly anticipated production of Margaret Edson's Wit. The Pulitzer Prize-winning play will be led by Broadway's Judy McLane (Vivan Bearing, Ph.D) and feature Tony Award®-winner Daisy Eagan (Susie Monahan, R.N., B.S.N.). The thought-provoking story will run in the AJ Fletcher Opera Theater at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh, April 29-May 8, 2016.

In Shakespeare's 400th anniversary year, Cheek by Jowl today announce that their critically acclaimed Russian language production of Measure for Measure will open the 2016 Shakespeare Festival at Hamlet's Castle, Kronborg, Elsinore, with performances from 1 to 7 August. The festival will also celebrate a landmark anniversary, marking the 200th year of performing Shakespeare in this traditional setting.

'The New World Symphony: Dvorak in America' is a puppet and object theater work examining the influence of African-American and Native American music upon the great 19th-century Czech composer Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). The piece is written and directed by Vit Horejš and performed by Czechoslovak American Marionette Theatre. It traces how Dvorak helped America accept its beautiful multicultural musical traditions by his enthusiasm for African-American and Native American music during his short but influential time in the USA. La MaMa Theatre will present the play's world premiere run March 10 to 27, 2016 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 East 4th Street (East Village). Composer and Musical Director is saxophonist James Brandon Lewis.

The Public Theater will celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death in 2016 with free Shakespeare in the Park beginning in May, along with other affordable Bard programming at Astor Place and the Delacorte Theater, it was announced today. As part of Oskar Eustis' 10th Anniversary season, free Shakespeare in the Park this summer will feature an all-female version of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and featuring Olivier Award nominee Cush Jumbo as Katherina and Tony Award winner Janet McTeer as Petruchio, followed in July by TROILUS AND CRESSIDA, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

The Lyric Hammersmith today announces its Spring 2016 Season. They will present the first professional production of Simon Stephen's HERONS since the play premiered at the Royal Court in 2001, directed by the Lyric's Artistic Director Sean Holmes. This is followed by the return of their co- production with Filter Theatre of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM last staged in 2012. The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center and AEG Live announced today that tickets for the three-time Grammy award-winning blues musician Keb' Mo' will go on sale Friday, January 15 at 10 a.m.  Keb' Mo' will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Majestic Theatre in downtown Dallas.
