The Flea Theater announces the roster of its Summer 2019 Anchor Partners, independent music, dance and theater companies who will perform at The Flea over the next three months.  The Flea presents Elisa Monte Dance, Jody Oberfelder Projects, Spicy Witch Productions, Experiments in Opera, New Light Theater Project, Take Dance, New Georges and TOSOS.

Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. The reading series will feature new plays by 2018-2019 Rogue Lab playwrights Lisa Sanaye Dring, Eric Fagundes, John Guerra, Mildred Inez Lewis, Chelsea Sutton, and Jennie Webb, and a special new play presentation by writing team Taylor Coffman and Z. Tennessee Women's Theater Project presents the revival of the most popular show in company history when SISTAS the Musical opens at the Z. Alexander Looby Theatre for a May 3-19 run.

Cheek by Jowl reunites with the Moscow Pushkin Drama Theatre on Francis Beaumont's outrageous dark comedy, The Knight of the Burning Pestle, hilarious and terrifying in its relevance to our times. Following its Paris and Moscow premieres, the production comes to London for performances at the Barbican - where Cheek by Jowl is an Artistic Associate, from 5 to 8 June with a press performance on 5 June.

Central Works season of new plays continues this spring with a "cheeky" thriller written by the local award-winning playwright Patricia Milton, The Victorian Ladies' Detective Collective, opening May 4 running through June 2 (previews 5/2 & 3); world-premiere # 63, from the Central Works Writers Workshop. The production, directed by Gary Graves, is the fifth writer/director comic collaboration between Central Works' resident playwright and its company co-director. In Victorian London it seems Jack the Ripper may be at it again where sisters Loveday and Valeria run a boarding house for Single Ladies. When a series of gruesome murders terrorizes the neighborhood, they appeal to the police for protection. But Scotland Yard is no help at all. The bodies are piling up on their doorstep! So the women join with an American ex-pat to bring the killer to justice on their own. Last season's CW production of Bamboozled by Patricia Milton won both TBA awards in the Outstanding Performer slots for Stacy Ross & Chelsea Bearce (now in this production), along with Entire Ensemble and Outstanding Production.

Baruch Performing Arts Center, along with New York-based theater company Blessed Unrest and Teatri ODA of Kosovo, will co-present the World Premiere of Refuge from April 25 - May 11 @ 7:30, with a variable weekly schedule and a 5pm performance Sun May 5 (Opening Night April 27) at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (25 Street between Third and Lexington Avenues), NYC.

The National Youth Theatre today announces its 2019 Summer and Autumn Season which will feature an extended 7th annual REP season of three plays in London, brand new commissions staged in five cities across the UK and festival appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe, Latitude and Bradford Literature Festival. This is the first time the majority of NYT's summer / autumn season productions will be staged outside of London. Three NYT members have also been appointed as paid Centre Stage Creatives and have also been commissioned to build local NYT networks and create new work in towns around the UK.

Ardent Theatre Company today announces the full cast for the first revival of Philip Osment's This Island's Mine. Philip Wilson directs Connor Bannister (Luke), Jane Bertish (Miss Rosenblum/Vladimir), Theo Fraser Steele (Martin/Stephen/Prospero), Corey Montague-Sholay (Selwyn/Dave), Tom Ross-Williams (Mark/The Director/Frank), Rachel Summers (Jody/Mme Irina/Debbie/Wayne), and Rebecca Todd (Marianne/Maggie/Miranda). This Island's Mine opens at the King's Head Theatre on 17 May, with previews from 15 May, until 8 June.

Since 2011 Mezzo-soprano Ginger Costa-Jackson has sung the title role in 12 different productions of Bizet's Carmen. She will star in yet another this month for San Diego Opera. From here it's on to rehearsals for nine performances of Bizet's masterwork at Seattle Opera. Is the singer tiring of Carmen? Not even close. She loves the character's sense of freedom and empowerment, and works with each new director to make her performance even more convincing.

The latest project of the Late Night Catechism series, Sister's Easter Catechism: Will My Bunny Go to Heaven? takes the Popejoy stage, Sunday, April 7 at 3:00pm. This one-woman show features Sister, a forthright nun, during her classroom lesson about the Easter Holiday. She covers questions from "Why does Lent exist?" to "Do animals really go to heaven?" In this uproarious production, audience members become her classroom pupils and are tested on their Easter knowledge. Premiering in May 1993, Late Night Catechism served as a fundraising effort after the eradication of Social Security for nuns in the Catholic Church. Today, with three other productions, Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold, Sister Strikes Again!: Late Night Catechism 2 and 'Til Death Do Us Part: Late Night Catechism 3 the production brings a facetious explanation for everything pious. Don't be surprised if your entire world is shattered at the wag of Sister's index finger. Other shows include Sister Rolls the Dice and Sister's Summer School Catechism: God Never Takes a Vacation!, as part of a Vegas series. Initially written by Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan, Late Night Catechism is the longest running show in Chicago history and the longest running one-woman comedy in off-Broadway history. It has raised funds for many groups and churches throughout Illinois, as well as other parishes throughout the nation and globally. Sister's Easter Catechism has brought insight to the significance of the Vernal Holiday, since its debut in March of 2011, with Maripat Donovan leading the Easter egg hunt as Sister. With rewards for good behavior and chock-full of fun and games, this production will leave you duly prepared for your Easter Holiday celebrations. The Easter show is the third to visit Popejoy, following both Late Night Catechism and Sister's Christmas Catechism. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup. Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The program includes discoveries, comedies, music-centered, political and social films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.  

The stamp collecting game just turned cutthroat. Running at Blackfriars Theatre March 22nd - April 7th, Mauritius tells the story of two estranged sisters who, after their mother's death, come across a rare stamp collection containing the crown jewel(s) for collectors. One sister tries to collect on the windfall, while the other resists for sentimental reasons. In this suspenseful thriller, a seemingly simple sale becomes dangerous when three seedy, high-stakes collectors enter the sisters' world, each willing to do anything to claim the rare find as their own.
