A lonely woodsman from the Land of Oz must embark on a harrowing journey to protect the love of his life from her evil guardian, the Wicked Witch of the East. Through puppetry, movement, and song, Strangemen & Co. presents a hauntingly beautiful and ultimately heartbreaking twist on the forgotten writings of L. Frank Baum.

Providence Ballet Theatre closed out their eighth season May 5th and 6th with their own version of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS at the Greenwich Odeum. As explained by artistic director and choreographer of the show, Eva Marie Pacheco, on-stage before the performance, almost everything about this production is original and locally created ¬Ė with the exception of the piece's composer, Tony Lustig, who hails from New York. Snow White was seen previously as one part of a larger program at Rhode Island College's Sapinsley Hall back in March of this year, but this is the first time it's been presented as its own, stand alone show. Hardy is one of the youngest composers to ever be accepted into the Exploring the Metropolis Con Edison Composer Residency and is one of the most prominent composer/ violinists of solo violin repertoire for theatrical productions in New York City. California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) continues its partnership with the Sierra Madre Playhouse as the school's Acting Conservatory students head back to the theater for "The Importance of Being Earnest," their third play of the school year (previously "The Yellow Boat" and "Elephant's Graveyard"). Together with a cast of students from grades nine through 11, the Victorian-inspired set and costuming takes the audience back to turn of the 19th century. As the shop slowly floods, buried trauma, and secrets pour forth as well, forcing the sisters to work it out (through garbled English) before they drown.
