Actor Ben Cherry is gearing up to star in Indecent at Arena Stage. He chatted with NBC Washington about the production, and gave a preview of what's to come. Check out the full feature below!

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel's thought-provoking play Indecent. Inspired by the 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch's Yiddish drama The God of Vengeance, and the controversy that surrounded its themes of censorship, immigration and anti-Semitism, Vogel explores the behind-the-scenes story of the courageous artists who risked their careers and lives to perform this piece of theater under the most challenging circumstances. Infused with music that combines standards from Yiddish theater with folk traditions of the early to mid-20th century, Indecent, a co-production with Baltimore Center Stage and Kansas City Repertory, is directed by Eric Rosen, with choreography by Erika Chong Shuch and music direction and original music by Alexander Sovronsky. The production runs November 23 - December 30, 2018 in the Kreeger Theater.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today announced their 2019 season.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2018/19 season with the emotionally-intimate Broadway sensation, INDECENT, by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel. Running January 18 through February 10, 2019 at Spencer Theatre, INDECENT is a co-production with Arena Stage and Baltimore Center Stage, and is directed by former KCRep artistic director, Eric Rosen, with choreography by Erika Chong Shuch, and music direction and original music by Alexander Sovronsky.

So perhaps the fear and screaming is a good thing. The first step to feeling afraid and learning to cope with that. And I hope that once the screaming subsides, that these stories will be enjoyed, and that our audience finds in them a message of empowerment.

Here's our calendar for November 12, 2018, to help you plot your course through next February...

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director Tim Sanford, Managing Director Leslie Marcus) will, from today, November 12, through Thursday, November 15, accept entries for the Live for Five online lottery, giving out $5 tickets to the New York premiere production of Noura, from 9 Parts of Desire playwright and actor Heather Raffo and director Joanna Settle. The Washington Post deemed this "epic-feeling, nearly searing portrait of a woman torn between cultures and family" the "best premiere of the Women's Voices Theater Festival" when it made its world premiere in Washington, D.C. earlier this year. Produced in association with Shakespeare Theatre Company, it will be performed at Playwrights Horizons from November 27 to December 30. Playwrights Horizons created Live for Five in 2007 as part of their Arts Access program to reach out to those who may not be able to afford the cost of a full-price theater ticket. Since its inception, over 3,000 theatergoers have been able to attend the theater thanks to the initiative.

Dramatists Play Service will celebrate the Acting Edition publication and acquisition of licensing rights for Max Posner's newest plays "The Treasurer, " "Snore," and "Sisters on the Ground," with an event at Drama Book Shop, 250 W. 40th St., from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 19.

Performance dates and a change in venue are in order for the Actors Bridge Ensemble's production of The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe. Originally scheduled to open this Friday night at Belmont's Black Box Theatre, the Nashville premiere of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize-nominated play about a girls' indoor soccer team will now run November 30-December 2 and December 6-8 at the Darkhorse Theater, 4610 Charlotte Avenue, according to ABE artistic director Vali Forrister.

The Toronto Film Critics Association is pleased to announce prolific Indigenous film, television and stage actor Tantoo Cardinal is the recipient of this year's Technicolor Clyde Gilmour Award.

– David Huckfelt, the acclaimed leader of The Pines, will release his solo debut, Stranger Angels, on February 22, 2018. Huckfelt wrote the album in solitude as the Artist-In-Residence on Isle Royale, channeling the mysterious and lonesome island's spirits into a stirring thin-place soundtrack. After recently releasing the title track, that features Sylvan Esso's Amelia Meath on vocals, Huckfelt today shares the video for 'You Get Got' - which premiered at PopMatters, who called it, 'a song that seems guaranteed to advance his reputation as one of his generation's finest voices.'

Today the producers of Network on Broadway announced FOODWORK, an exclusive immersive onstage culinary experience at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

After a massive summer tour with electrifying performances and stage production in front of packed Amphitheaters nationwide, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH and BREAKING BENJAMIN will expand theirco-headlining North American tour which will now take both artists into Arenas nationwide through Fall 2018. Produced by FPC Live (Frank Productions), the Fall Arena tour will once again feature 2018 breakout rock band Bad Wolves (select dates) with Swedish heavyweights In Flames on other select shows. Chart toppers From Ashes To New will offer support on all fall dates, while special guest Trap-Core DJ Felmax will bring his heavy beats to round out the night of entertainment. 

New York Stage and Film is thrilled to announce that its annual Winter Gala will honor playwright and Emmy award-winning actress Patricia Wettig (F2M, 'Brothers and Sisters,' 'thirtysomething') and Executive Producer/director/actor Ken Olin ('This Is Us,' 'Alias,' 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'thirtysomething'), and, in recognition for her years of dedication to New York Stage and Film, Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer, who is stepping down from her post at the end of the 2019 Powerhouse Summer Season.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 84th Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Reykjavik by Steve Yockey. The Roll has begun at Core Member Theater Actor's Express (playing through November 18, 2018 in Atlanta), followed by Rorschach Theatre (February 8-March 3, 2019 in Washington, DC), Kitchen Dog Theater (June 6-30, 2019 in Dallas) and Southern Rep (October 2-20, 2019 in New Orleans).

The American Romanian Cultural Society (ARCS) in partnership with Romanian Cultural Institute, New York is excited to announce the full lineup for the 5th Edition of The Romanian Film Festival Seattle, screening November 2-4 at SIFF Cinema Uptown.
