Cantata Singers 55th season begins on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 8pm in New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall with J.S. Bach's cantata BWV 140, "Wachet auf," and the first complete performance of John Harbison's Sacred Trilogy.

Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced five new shows that will join its diverse 2018-19 season. Tony Bennett, 19-time Grammy Award-winning musician, will perform at LBC Tuesday, December 11, 2018; the popular comedy show Whose Live Anyway returns on Sunday, February 17, 2019; American folk legend Arlo Guthrie performs in Santa Rosa as part of The Alice Restaurant's 50th Anniversary Tour on Thursday, March 28, 2019; Friends! The Musical Parody also returns to LBC on Tuesday, April 30, 2019; and American roots musician Keb' Mo' plays at the Center on Thursday, May 16, 2019. 

Anyone who has heard Janis Joplin knows her immediately - the give-all intensity, the great songs, and that rawly emotive voice. A Night With Janis Joplin presents an imagined concert, held a week before her untimely death, with the legendary performer joined by some of her most significant influences - from Aretha Franklin to Nina Simone to Bessie Smith to Odetta.  The Music Center announced it will present two star-studded concerts, JONI 75: A Birthday Celebration Live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on November 6 and November 7, 2018, featuring an incredible array of singers and musicians who will honor one of the world's most remarkable artists, Joni Mitchell, on her 75th birthday.  On both nights, Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Graham Nash, Seal, and Rufus Wainwright, will perform songs from all stages of Mitchell's life and career, across the entire oeuvre of her 19 studio albums.  Co-musical directors, providing the musical arrangements for the evenings, are drummer Brian Blade, who recorded three studio albums and toured extensively with Mitchell, and, pianist, composer, arranger producer Jon Cowherd.

Longtime comedians Steve Martin and Martin Short will appear at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts for a one night, pavilion-only show today, September 1, 2018. The show, 'An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life,' will include stand-up, film clips, musical numbers and conversations about their lives in show business. Martin and Short will be joined by the Grammy Award-winning bluegrass band The Steep Canyon Rangers and renowned jazz pianist and Jimmy Kimmel Live band member Jeff Babko.

Following the overwhelming success of Samuel Beckett's incandescent classic Endgame, currently on at the Baxter Golden Arrow Studio, the season has been extended by a week and will now end of 1 September at 7.30pm, Monday to Saturday.

National Youth Music Theatre's season is well underway at The Other Palace. With casts and creatives featuring young people, NYMT's work develops up and coming talent on stage and off.
