BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Maurice Edwards, opera and stage director and actor, has died at age 97 due to COVID-19.

Tickets for Sting's acclaimed musical THE LAST SHIP, starring and featuring original music and lyrics by 17-time Grammy Award-winner Sting, will go on sale Friday, October 18 at 10am for its Washington D.C. premiere engagement. Cherrytree Management and Live Nation have confirmed that Sting will perform at the Usana Amphitheatre in Utah on August 31 at 7:30 PM for a very special, one-night-only appearance, accompanied by the Utah Symphony. All proceeds from the concert will go to the Zion Forever Project to benefit Zion National Park as part of the Park's centennial celebration.

Roundabout Theatre Company has just announced the company and design team for the new Broadway production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons starring Golden Globe winner and Academy, Tony & Emmy nominee Annette Bening as 'Kate Keller' and SAG Award nominee & Tony Award winner Tracy Letts as 'Joe Keller,' directed by Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien. Joining Bening and Letts are Benjamin Walker as 'Chris Keller,' Francesca Carpanini as 'Ann Deever,' Hampton Fluker as 'George Deever,' Michael Hayden as 'Dr. Jim Bayliss,' Jenni Barber as 'Lydia Lubey,' Nehal Joshi as 'Frank Lubey,' Chinasa Ogbuagu as 'Sue Bayliss.'

Inspired by a 1970 Federico Fellini film, three aging clowns compete for a job in an absurdly comic look at man's fear of uselessness in society. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble presents the West Coast premiere of Old Clown Wanted by Romanian-French playwright Matei Visniec in a new translation from the French by Jeremy Lawrence. Romanian-born Florinel Fatulescu directs for a Sept. 22 opening, with performances continuing through Nov. 4 at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) kicks off its 2018-2019 Season with the spine tingling tale of Susan Hill's The Woman in Black.  Hill's gothic ghost story, adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, will star Bradley Armacost as Arthur Kipps and Adam Wesley Brown as the Actor in the show that Daily Mail called, "A nerve-shredding experience."  Director Robin Herford will recreate his original staging from the London West End.  The American premiere of the West End Production is produced by PW Productions and Pemberley Productions.  Previews begin on September 15th, with press opening on September 21st at the Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square. 

We're Going on a Bear Hunt announces full cast for the smash-hit production which returns to the West End at Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue from 4 July, ten years after its first UK tour. Benjamin Hills (Dog/Musician), Rebecca Newman (Girl) and Thos Wainwright (Dad) return to the cast and they will be joined by Joey Hickman (Boy).

An all-star ensemble of instrumentalists - Joshua Rubin, clarinet; Geoff Nuttall, violin; Christopher Costanza, cello; and Sarah Rothenberg, piano - bring to life this timeless work, which Messiaen wrote and premiered in 1941 while in confinement at a prisoner-of-war camp in Germany during World War II.

Singer-songwriter Nellie McKay will perform on Friday, February 23 at 8PM in the Spotlight Caf at the Capitol Center for the Arts. McKay puts her spin on classics by artists ranging from Steve Miller to Cole Porter and Doris Day to the Beatles and Frank Zappa. Her original songs touch on subjects as far-ranging as her beloved dog to political and environmental issues.
