Playwrights Horizons has announced a schedule of performances of its next two productions—Agnes Borinsky's The Trees, directed by Tina Satter and co-produced with Page 73 Productions, and Julia Izumi's Regretfully, So the Birds Are, directed by Jenny Koons and co-produced with WP Theater—for which it will provide various accessibility services.

Arts on the Horizon, a non-verbal theatre company whose programs are specifically designed for children ages 0 to 6, is presenting Fitting In, a world premiere play, as part of its 10th anniversary season. Fitting In will run March 10-25, 2023 at Theatre on the Run in Arlington, Virginia.

Danse Danse reveals a highlight of its 2023–2024 season: Message In A Bottle, a spectacular production celebrating contemporary and street dance styles, with a soundtrack of hits by renowned singer–songwriter Sting. A performance event by choreographer Kate Prince, featuring the dancers of ZooNation, on stage March 12 to 16, 2024 at Place des Arts.

San Francisco's 3Girls Theatre Company returns to a full schedule of live performances for the first time since March of 2020, when their New Works Festival—literally only days away from taking the stage—was shut down by the pandemic. 

In 2019 I attended my first two Pyramid Theatre shows. Immediately, I was drawn to the work the company was producing. So in 2020, I was heartbroken when Covid forced them to cancel their season. Coming into 2021, I was thrilled to find out they were partnering with Des Moines Playhouse to produce “A Love Offering.”  It was the first live production I saw coming out of the shutdown. This production was just the start of a beautiful partnership that brought a workshop production of “Buffalo Women” and now August Wilson’s “The Piano Lesson,” which opened on February 3. If this production is any indication of what the partnership of these two theatre companies can do, then I hope it continues far past this season.

Comprised of three siblings from South Minneapolis (Annie Kuchenmeister: age 21, guitarist and singer; Nissa: age 16, drummer and singer; and Oskar: age 12, bassist), each brings their own unique personality to the music, resulting linked together by an innate bond gelled from their shared upbringing.

The Public Theater has announced the line-up for the Emerging Writers Group’s Spotlight Series, a collection of invitation-only performances where members of the current cohort present their full-length plays.

A brand new stage production documenting the early life of best-selling author Helen Forrester is going back on the road during Autumn 2023 after its inaugural tour came to a standstill at the start of the Covid pandemic. 

Rock, pop, Latin and classical influences come to the fore on the new material of mostly original melodies. Guests include Rhiannon Giddens (“Woman of the House”), Yo-Yo Ma (“So You Love”) Brian Finnegan (“Colour Theory”)—and, on “Choo Choo,” their 17-year-old daughter Mary Frances Leahy.

Theatre for a New Audience has announced the extension of the Off-Broadway premiere of Denis Johnson’s Des Moines. The final play from the late author now runs through January 8, 2023 (extended from an original closing date of January 1).
