Weathervane Productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory are pleased to present the world premiere of SELKIE, or When I Look at the Ocean, I Feel Like I Belong, a new play inspired by Selkie mythology, written by Sarah Shaefer.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre's Executive Director Carlo Scandiuzzi and Chair of the Board of Trustees Chuck Sitkin are pleased to announce that Becky Witmer has been promoted to Managing Director. Witmer previously served as ACT's General Manager and Director of Marketing and Communications. She will work with the staff and board to continue ACT's success in developing audiences, raising funds, and overseeing the daily operations of the theatre. Witmer signed a two-year contract in 2016 and now reports to the Board of Trustees.

CANNIBAL COUNTRY, a new physical theatre drama written and directed by Alex McCarthy, will premiere at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre this February. The hour-long piece stars Dustin Beck and Amelia Vernede.

Sian Thomas will be taking on the role of Mrs Fox in the Donmar's production of Welcome Home, Captain Fox! replacing Francesca Annis who regrettably has had to withdraw from the production for personal reasons.

The evening's highlights include a pin-up mermaid costume contest, a screening of The Wiz, entertainment by Brown Girls Burlesque and sideshow acts,and musical performances by Amour Obscur, Fright Barker and Sons, and Raya Brass Band.

Opening Night is Thursday, December 3. The cast of PEERLESS includes Teresa Avia Lim, Christopher Livingston, Caroline Neff, JD Taylor, and Tiffany Villarin.

Vancouver, BC ~  Religious and political tension, media hysteria and the lives of six women facing threats to their children, their family and the only way of life they've ever known are at the heart of Dark Sisters, Nico Muhly's opera about life in a fundamentalist community. Vancouver Opera stages the Canadian premiere of this astounding work at the Vancouver Playhouse from tonight, November 26 - December 12, 2015.
