BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that prolific filmmaker Rob Reiner, director of such films as When Harry Met Sally... and The Princess Bride, has died at the age of 78.

Raise Your Hands! The Off Broadway cast recording of The Gospel According to Heather, a new musical with a book, music and lyrics by Paul Gordon. will be released on JAY Records. Produced by John Yap, the recording will feature the original cast of the Off Broadway production who gathered this week at Manhattan Studios to lay down the tracks.

Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center will brighten January with its annual Gala. Light Up The Night will once again give audiences an incredible event to celebrate Uptown. Honoring the life and legacy of storyteller, activist and philanthropist Norman Lear, ABC will present “Norman Lear: 100 Years of Music and Laughter.” The special will pay homage to the man behind some of television’s greatest stories and will feature a lineup of celebrity guests and musical performances to celebrate his 100th birthday.

The Borgata has announced new comedic, dance and musical performances scheduled to take place at The Event Center and Music Box theater. The Board of Directors of the Memphis Development Foundation (MDF), which operates the historic Orpheum Theatre, will name the Foundation's newest capital addition the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education in honor of President and CEO Pat Halloran. Halloran will have served the Orpheum Theatre for 35 years at the time of his retirement at the end of 2015. The Centre, a $14.5 million addition to the Orpheum campus, has long been a passion project of Halloran's.
