by A.A. Cristi - Jan 25, 2018

In politics, the less you know, the higher you'll go! At once a razor-sharp satire and an inspirational tribute to democracy, The Outsider is a timely and hilarious send-up of modern American politics. In the midst of a political scandal, Ned Newley, the ultimate policy wonk, is unexpectedly thrust into the position of Governor. A complete unknown, with no political instincts and a paralyzing fear of public speaking, Ned seems destined to fail. But his political consultants see things a little differently: Ned might be the worst candidate to ever run for office. Unless the public is looking for... the worst candidate to ever run for office!

Photo Flash: Teens Tackle Topical Social Issues in HEATHERS THE MUSICAL: High School Edition At Drama Learning Center

by Julie Musbach - Jan 12, 2018

Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists will present Heathers the Musical: High School Edition in a run that begins tonight. Adapted from the cult classic 1980's film by the same name, Heathers follows the social rise and fall of teenage misfit Veronica Sawyer in a fictional suburban Ohio town. On the heels of a growing romance with social outsider JD and her dismissal from the high school clique known as The Heathers, things in Sherwood, Ohio take a decidedly dark turn.

Photo Flash: NYC Premiere Of THE SNOWY DAY... Opens On MLK Day Weekend At St. Luke's Theatre

by A.A. Cristi - Jan 10, 2018

January 13, 2018, with an added performance on MLK Day, January 15th. Adapted for the stage by Jerome Hairston, with music by Victor Zupanc, the show is inspired by four of Keats' most beloved stories, including the 1963 Caldecott Award-winning The Snowy Day. The show celebrates the wonder of childhood in the city - from making tracks in the freshly fallen snow, to learning how to whistle, to imagining new worlds with a best friend who lives across the hall - these small moments of delight and joy are captured beautifully. Incorporating shadow puppets, songs, mime and humor, the 45 minute show for children will appeal to all ages.
