The Orphans' Home Cycle: Part 3 - The Story of a Family

The Orphans' Home Cycle is a world premiere production of nine plays that Horton Foote has adapted into a three part theatrical event. Each of the nine plays was originally written as a full-length play, but they are being presented together this season in their newly adapted three part form for the first time!



Part 3 "The Story of a Family"



Act I: 1918

The 1918 Flu Epidemic strikes Harrison and the Robedaux family is hit particularly hard.



Act II: Cousins

Horace is called to Corella's bedside in Houston when she faces another operation. Meanwhile, as everyone attempts to sort through their complex family trees, the past haunts his cousins Minnie Curtis and Lewis Higgins.



Act III: The Death of Papa

The death of Elizabeth's father sends the Vaughn and Robedaux households into a tailspin while Horace struggles through the turbulent economy to keep his store open and support his family.

Due to conflicts with the Broadway opening night schedule, Signature Theatre Company is announcing new opening night dates for Parts 2 and 3 of Horton Foote's THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE.

The New York Times has confirmed that THE ORPHAN'S HOME CYCLE will aim for a fall 2010 Broadway opening, as opposed to rushing the show in this spring, as we previously speculated. While the show had the opportunity to transfer from its current home Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre into the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway for a spring opening, the producers and director Michael Wilson have opted to take the extra time to better prepare the show for the move.
