Theater for the New City's award-winning Street Theater Company is perfroming its 34th annual tour with 'Gone Fission, or Alternative Power,' an Operatta for the Street. The rip-roaring production is touring City streets, parks and playgrounds throughout the five boroughs through September 12. The production, free to all New Yorkers, has book, lyrics and direction by Crystal Field and musical score composed by Joseph Vernon Banks.

Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave will return to the New York stage this Fall to star opposite one another in the Broadway Premiere of Alfred Uhry‘s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.
