The Play Company's Idea Lab, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut New York and the German Consulate New York, is proud to present a public event featuring internationally acclaimed German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig, in conjunction with our New York premiere production of his play THE GOLDEN DRAGON. Mr. Schimmelpfennig will discuss his award-winning play THE GOLDEN DRAGON, his larger body of work, and trends in German theatre today, May 12 @ 4:15pm -- immediately following the 3pm matinee performance of THE GOLDEN GRAGON at The New Ohio Theatre, 154 Christopher Street. This open conversation will be moderated by Dr. Frank Hentschker, Executive Director of the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the CUNY Graduate Center.

THE GOLDEN DRAGON is directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES, RESTORATION COMEDY), renowned for whimsical invite-only theater company, Exit, Pursued by a Bear. THE GOLDEN DRAGON will be performed at The New Ohio Theatre (154 Christopher Street in the West Village) from tonight, May 8th through Sunday, June 9th, 2013. The press opening is Wednesday, May 15th.

Paper Mill Playhouse presents Thoroughly Modern Millie, winner of the 2002 Drama Desk and Tony Award for Best Musical. This effervescent musical romp will feature Ashley Kate Adams (Miss Dorothy Brown), Brenda Braxton (Muzzy Van Hossmere), Billy Bustamante (Bun Foo), Jeff Kready (Jimmy Smith), Burke Moses (Mr. Trevor Graydon), Lenora Nemetz (Mrs. Meers), James Seol (Ching Ho), Jessica Sheridan (Miss Flannery) and Laurie Veldheer (Millie Dillmount). Thoroughly Modern Millie will be directed by Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee with choreography by Denis Jones. Thoroughly Modern Millie will run at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater from tonight, April 10 through May 5, 2013. The official press opening is Sunday, April 14, at 7:00pm.

According to the Daily Mail, Rafe Spall is in final talks to join Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig in Harold Pinter's BETRAYAL, directed by Mike Nichols (Death of a Salesman), for a limited run on Broadway beginning in October 2013 at the Barrymore Theatre. BETRAYAL will begin rehearsals in August.

Berkeley Playhouse has announced the lineup for its sixth season. The family-friendly season of musicals timeless and new opens in October with Andrew Lippa and Brian Crawley's enchanting A LITTLE PRINCESS, directed by Berkeley Playhouse Artistic Director Elizabeth McKoy. Marissa Wolf returns to the company to direct Meredith Wilson's THE MUSIC MAN in February, followed by THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE in April, directed by Kimberly Dooley. Closing the MainStage season is SHREK THE MUSICAL directed by Elizabeth McKoy in July. In addition to the MainStage season, the company will present winter, spring, and fall YouthStage productions. The entire 2013-14 season will be staged at the Julia Morgan Theater (2640 College Avenue) in Berkeley. Subscriptions ($54-$112) on-sale March 23; single tickets ($17-$60) on-sale August 1. Coming off of his Academy Award(R) win for Life of Pi, celebrated director Ang Lee will make his television directorial debut with FX, directing the Pilot episode for the highly anticipated drama Tyrant, from Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) Award-winning producers Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff (Homeland), and Emmy-nominated writer/producer Craig Wright (Six Feet Under, Lost). The Golden Dragon Acrobats hail from Cangzhou, Hebei province, in the People's Republic of China and have toured the United States continuously since 1978. Its members are athletes, actors and artists who have studied and trained for their craft since early childhood. The group averages 200 performances each year and has toured through all 50 states and in over 65 countries across the world. In 2005, their Broadway debut and seven-week run at the New Victory Theater earned two prestigious New York Drama Desk Awards nominations (for Best Choreography and Most Unique Theatrical Experience).
