The Criterion Collection has revealed the November lineup of Blu-ray titles, which includes the 1968 musical film Funny Girl starring Barbra Streisand. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen actor Burt Young has died at age 83. Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, known professionally as Burt Young, is best known for playing Rocky Balboa's brother-in-law and best friend Paulie Pennino in the Rocky film series, which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Ed Bruce, singer/songwriter, died Friday, January 8, 2021, in Clarksville, Tennessee, of natural causes at age 81.

'All Gone West,' a new play by John Attanas, transports us to the New York jazz scene of the early 50's. An Army vet, in love with a secretary at CCNY, would win her by setting up a be-bop club on Ninth Avenue with the help of a black saxophonist he has befriended in the service and a couple of low-lives he has met along the way. The couple's story is one of dreams dashed and fulfilled; love denied and embraced. The play features a cast of six plus a live, four-piece jazz ensemble. Jonathan Fluck, former Executive Director of IRT Theatre, will produce and direct the play's world premiere run March 28 to April 18, 2015 at Teatro Circulo, 64 East 4th Street (East Village).

Tonight, April 11, Theatre and Dance at Wayne rolls back the clock to the era when the Bonstelle Theatre became a part of Wayne State University, with the production of the 1950 classic, Guys & Dolls. Based on Damon Runyon's story and characters, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy features one of the greatest musical scores in the history of American theatre, and is considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy.

The Kenny Rogers concert, originally scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 7:30 PM has been postponed due to illness. The concert is now scheduled for Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 7:30 PM. Tickets issued for February date will be honored for the June 8th performance. No additional action is required. Museum of the Moving Image's ongoing series See It Big! presents classic and contemporary films on the big screen in the beautiful Sumner M. Redstone Theater. In November and December, the Museum will showcase 22 films photographed by some of the world's greatest cinematographers, including Gordon Willis, Vittorio Storaro, Vilmos Zsigmond, Nestor Almendros, Raoul Coutard, James Wong Howe, and more. The series, See It Big!: Great Cinematographers, runs from November 8 through December 29, 2013.

The legendary Kenny Rogers has enjoyed a 55-year-career as a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, distinctive vocalist, and consummate entertainer. Amazingly, Rogers has charted a record within each of the last seven decades and scored a hit single in the past six. Not many artists, if any at all, can lay claim to those extraordinary chart accomplishments. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame during a special Medallion Ceremony in Nashville on October 27th. Rogers recently finished recording a new album, You Can't Make Old Friends, which was released by Warner Bros. Records on October 8th to critical acclaim.
