The Progress Energy Center for the Arts Mahaffey Theater announced today that legendary musician, songwriter, singer and actor Kenny Rogers will perform his greatest hits for one-night-only on Friday, October 14th at 8:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased at all Ticketmaster Outlets, charged by phone at (800) 745-3000, or online at ticketmaster.com. Tickets may also be purchased at the Mahaffey Theater Box Office.

The multi-time Grammy-, AMA- and CMA-winner, Kenny Rogers has sold more than 120 million records worldwide, earned 24 #1 hits and recorded more than 65 albums. His long list of timeless classics includes: "The Gambler," "Lady," "Lucille," "She Believes in Me," "Islands in the Stream," and "We've Got Tonight." Two of Rogers' albums, The Gambler and Kenny, are featured in the About.com poll of "The 200 Most Influential Country Albums Ever," and his Greatest Hits album has sold over 24 million copies worldwide. He is the RIAA's eighth best-selling male artist of all time with one Diamond album, 19 Platinum albums and 31 Gold albums.

Rogers has also earned hundreds of awards for his music and charity work, including three Grammys, 11 People's Choice Awards, 18 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music awards and five Country Music Association awards. Achieving iconic status within his own lifetime, Rogers was voted "Favorite Singer of All-Time" in a 1986 joint poll by readers of both USA Today and People.

Scott Schecter, president of Big 3 Entertainment (the parent company of Bill Edwards Presents) is excited about the opportunity to bring Kenny Rogers back to the Mahaffey Theater. Tickets for this one-night performance go on sale this Friday, August 26thth at Noon. Ticket prices are $65, $60, and $50; prices include tax and facility fees, but are subject to additional convenience fees and handling charges.
