Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) kicks off the 10th anniversary of its Uptown Series with the world premiere of The Bad Guys, written by Alena Smith and directed by Hal Brooks. The Bad Guys will feature Michael Braun (War Horse), Roe Hartrampf (Unnatural Acts), James McMenamin (Suicide, Incorporated), Tobias Segal (The Miracle Worker) and Raviv Ullman (Russian Transport). Opening night is tonight, June 4th.

Steep Theatre's 11th season continues on April 12th with the Midwest Premiere of The Receptionist, by Obie Award-winning playwright Adam Bock. Director and Steep Artistic Associate Joanie Schultz returns home to Steep to direct the production. Schultz's past collaborations with the company have earned numerous Jeff awards and nominations, including Steep Ensemble Member Caroline Neff's 2011 Jeff Award for Best Actress for A Brief History of Helen of Troy. Neff and Schultz are back at it again with The Receptionist.

Directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Fish Eye, Seven Minutes in Heaven), the cast features Katya Campbell (Fish Eye), Erin Felgar (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Heidi Niedermeyer (Seven Minutes in Heaven), Gio Perez (The Language of Trees), Kate Cullen Roberts (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Debargo Sanyal (After), Matt Stadelmann (American Sligo, Seven Minutes in Heaven), and Joe Tippett (Fish Eye).
