Thriller Live, the concert spectacular at London's Lyric Theatre, which showcases his unforgettable music and dazzling choreography will see its record-breaking West End run enter its 10th year. And on February 15, the show will smash yet another West End record by becoming the 14th Longest Running Musical in History. Thriller Live also holds the record as the eighth longest running show currently playing in the West End. Yet more celebrations are planned for the 4,000th West End performance later in the year.

Performance Space 122, the birthplace of contemporary performance as it is known today, returns to its legendary home in the East Village, under the leadership of new Executive Artistic Director Jenny Schlenzka, after nearly six years presenting new works in partnership with venues across New York City. The institution will welcome the public to its newly renovated, column-free facilities at 150 1st Avenue - custom-designed by Deborah Berke Partners for interdisciplinary performance - with its 2018 Coil Festival (January 10 February 4, 2018).

Rehearsals begin today for The 5th Avenue Theatre's new production of Mamma Mia!, the celebrated musical that features the music of global pop sensation ABBA. UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Drama opens its 2017 18 season with a concert staging of the musical Chess, a complex exploration of strategy and love set at the intersection of US Russia political relations. With music by ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bj rn Ulvaeus and lyrics by Tim Rice, Chess premiered in 1986 telling the story of a match between an American Grandmaster (loosely based on the life of Bobby Fischer) and his Soviet rival, and was generally seen as a metaphor for the Cold War politics of the day. This is the first show in a season themed The Business of Politics/The Politics of Business, which takes a look at the shady underbelly of capitalism.
