In March, New Conservatory Theatre Center presents the regional premiere of Terrence McNally's It's Only a Play, in a newly revised version which marks McNally's eleventh production at NCTC. It's opening night of Peter Austin's new Broadway play, and while at the producer's penthouse for a lavish party, he anxiously awaits the play's reviews. With his career on the line and celebrities pouring in downstairs, he huddles upstairs with the producer, director and star of the show. This gleefully bitchy and affectionate (Entertainment Weekly) love letter to the theatre is the perfect setup for backstabbing comedy.

Cherry Orchard Festival , a leading presenter of international artists, theater companies and orchestras, presents the Chicago premiere of the critically-acclaimed play 'Brodsky / Baryshnikov,' conceived and directed by Alvis Hermanis, Feb. 2-4, 2018 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Dr. This limited Chicago engagement caps the three-city North American tour of the production co-produced by The New Riga Theatre and Baryshnikov Productions. The Washington Stage Guild offers a warm and touching tale of young love with the Washington area premiere of See Rock City by Arlene Hutton. It is the height of World War II, and Raleigh and May, the young couple from last season's uplifting hit Last Train to Nibroc, have returned home to Kentucky to figure out their lives. Their two very different mothers have plenty of ideas for them, but the war's progression affects them all, and leads to a heartwarming, bittersweet conclusion.

Artists Rep presents the World Premiere of Magellanica, by E.M. Lewis, directed by D maso Rodr guez from January 20 through February 18 on the theatre's Morrison Stage. Magellanica is a five-part epic play written by Oregon playwright E.M. Lewis. This production is made possible through major funding from the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) Creative Heights Initiative and the Edgerton Foundation New Play Award. Magellanica is a part of Portland's Fertile Ground Festival of New Works.
