Legendary choreographer, National Medal of Arts (2013) and MacArthur "Genius" Award (1994) recipient, and artistic director of New York Live Arts, Bill T. Jones welcomes a discussion with Oskar Eustis-Artistic Director of New York's Public Theater, who has nurtured one game-changing hit after another for the Public, including the award-winning musicals Fun Home and Hamilton. As both leaders in the arts world and change-makers, Jones and Eustis delve into the responsibilities of both arts organizations and artists.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to Chicago March 6-10, commemorating the company's 60th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of its first performances at the Auditorium, its Chicago home. During these special engagements, Ailey gives Midwest premieres to Rennie Harris' Lazarus, the company's first ever two-act ballet; Wayne McGregor's Kairos; and Jessica Lang's EN. The company also performs the Timeless Ailey program, a curated selection of classic pieces by company founder and visionary Alvin Ailey.

The Alley Theatre and Interim Artistic Director James Black, announce the cast and crew of the family drama The Humans by Stephen Karam and directed by Alley Artistic Associate Brandon Weinbrenner. The New York Times calls the play "a beautiful and moving play…a genuine and precious rarity." The Humans runs March 1-24 in the Hubbard Theatre. Sundance Institute will gather 20 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival with 12 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 2 that will be livestreamed at sundance.org and on YouTube. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 29 and will also be livestreamed. The Festival takes place January 24 through February 3 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.

Walnut Street Theatre continues its landmark 210th season with the uproarious Ken Ludwig's A COMEDY OF TENORS. Directed by and starring Frank Ferrante, this over-top-top comedy from Tony Winner Ken Ludwig begins previews on January 15th, opens on January 23rd, and runs through March 3rd on the Walnut's Mainstage.

The Washington Stage Guild presents the third and final play in Arlene Hutton's romantic trilogy portraying married life in the mid-20th Century. Gulf View Drive explores the lives of Raleigh and May Brummett, who met by chance during World War II, married in haste and faced the challenges of finding their own way. It is now 1953 and Raleigh's published stories have gained success. But success brings new challenges as both mothers-in-law and a sister descend on the couple. Along the way, each adjusts to the meaning of family life in his or her own way and faces an America beginning to confront its racial divide. The play opens on Thursday, January 17 and will run through Sunday, February 10, 2019. Press performance will be on Sunday, January 20 at 2:30 pm. A special talkback with playwright Arlene Hutton is scheduled immediately following this performance.

Richard Alston Has Been Awarded A Knighthood by Her Majesty the Queen for Services to Dance as announced in the 2019 New Years Honours List. The award is a wonderful acknowledgement of the remarkable contribution to the art form Richard has made over five decades as one of the most inspiring and influential choreographers in contemporary dance.

The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. The Festival hosts screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and at Sundance Mountain Resort, from January 24 - February 3, 2019.

SHN and Producers Tommy Mottola, the Dodgers, Tribeca Productions and Evamere Entertainment are pleased to announce a San Francisco engagement at the SHN Golden Gate Theatre from November 27 to December 23, 2018 as part of the 2018-2019 SHN Season for the North American tour of A BRONX TALE, the new musical featuring a book by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, music by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner Alan Menken, and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and Oscar and Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater, directed by two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Tony nominee Sergio Trujillo.

Will Roland (Broadway's 'Be More Chill') will head a cast of four in an innovative reading of 'Love Letters' by A.R. Gurney on December 9 at Feinstein's/54 Below. 

Will Roland (Broadway's 'Dear Evan Hansen') will head a cast of four in an innovative reading of 'Love Letters' by A.R. Gurney on December 9 at Feinstein's/54 Below.  The reading is organized by Getting Together for Good, a charitable giving circle, to benefit the Ric Swezey Memorial Library, a program of The Family Equality Council, which supports and protects LGBTQ families through education, advocacy, and legal initiatives. 

The play will be shown from March 21, 2019 until March 24, 2019. 

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is pleased to announce its new exhibition and artist workspace at 80 White Street in Lower Manhattan, which will be known as The Block Gallery. The name was chosen in honor of the late Bronx Museum Executive Director Holly Block. It will welcome the first artist residents in January, 2019.

The Menier Chocolate Factory today announces principal company for its major revival of one of the world's most-beloved musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof, in a new staging by Trevor Nunn. Joining the previously announced Andy Nyman (Tevye) is Judy Kuhn as Golde, with Harriet Bunton (Hodel), Dermot Canavan (Lazar Wolf), Stewart Clarke (Perchik), Matt Corner (Fyedka), Joshua Gannon (Motel), Louise Gold (Yente), Kirsty MacLaren (Chava) and Molly Osborne (Tzeitel).

The Actors' Gang Theater will begin previews of The Madwoman of Chaillot today, September 27th and run through Saturday, November 10th with an official press opening on Saturday, October 6th.
