Famed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater marks its annual Kennedy Center engagement, February 6 11, with seven magnetic performances on the Opera House stage. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, the company's performances include two D.C. debuts, three new productions, and a total of 10 works by a range of diverse choreographers. The iconic Twyla Tharp is celebrating the 50th anniversary of her 1965 choreographic debut of Tank Dive with an American tour that includes one special stop in Toronto at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts.  It has been over two decades since Twyla Tharp Dance last performed in Toronto.

According to published reports, Tony winner Twyla Tharp will receive the 2013 Capezio Dance Award.

The producers of the new Broadway musical, COME FLY AWAY, announced the cast today for the North American tour of the show, launching at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA, on August 2, 2011.

The new Broadway musical, COME FLY AWAY, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and featuring vocals by Frank Sinatra, will make its Connecticut premiere at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford May 29-June 3, 2012, as part of The Bushnell's 2011-2012 Broadway Series.
