The Huntington Theatre Company will open its 2017-2018 season with the legendary musical Merrily We Roll Along by Stephen Sondheim. Director Maria Friedman will recreate her critically celebrated West End production for Boston audiences. Performances will run September 8 - October 15, 2017 at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

The Flat Rock Playhouse 2017 season will continue with one of its most beloved musicals, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. 

Gloucester Stage Company continues its 38th season of professional theater on Cape Ann with N. Richard Nash's moving American classic The Rainmaker from July 14 through August 5 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Set in the time of a paralyzing drought in Depression-era America, The Rainmaker tells the story of a pivotal hot summer day in the life of spinsterish Lizzie Curry, whose father and two brothers are worried as much about her marriage prospects as they are about their dying cattle. Enter Starbuck, the consummate con man, who promises to solve all their problems, for a fee. Directed by Gloucester Stage Artistic Director Robert Walsh, The Rainmaker cast features Brian Homer as Starbuck; Jessica Bates as Lizzie Curry; David DeBeck as H.C. Curry, the patriarch of the Curry family; Joe Short and Sean McCoy as the Curry brothers; Dave Rich as File and longtime Gordon College Professor of Theater Arts Norm Jones as Sheriff Thomas. N. Richard Nash's most celebrated play, The Rainmaker, appeared in all three mediums; on Broadway in 1954, as a motion picture starring Katharine Hepburn in 1956, and as a television production in 1982. A musical version of The Rainmaker, entitled 110 Degrees in the Shade, debuted on Broadway in 1963.

The City of Fairfax Theatre Company (CFTC) will present Tim Rice and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," July 21-29, 2017.

Based in Israel, Roy Assaf Dance makes its U.S. debut with a program of clever and heartfelt works in the Doris Duke Theatre July 12-16. A rising choreographic star, Assaf has been commissioned by companies across the globe including Batsheva Dance Company, The Royal Swedish Ballet, National Dance Company Wales, and LA Dance Project. The program opens with Assaf's embracing duet Six Years Later which is praised for its "beauty, nuances, and intricate, astute movements" (Ora Brafman, Jerusalem Post), and closes with his powerful all-male trio The Hill, inspired by veterans' experiences and based on the Hebrew song "Givat Hatachmoshet".

The Menier Chocolate Factory today has announced the full company for their brand new production of Sue Townsend's The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ - The Musical which opens in Adrian's 50th birthday year.

Michael David Winery announced today the purchase of a historic Geyserville winery, tasting room, and vineyards. Originally constructed in 1982 by the Lyeth family, the winery was most recently owned and operated by Silver Oak Cellars from 1992 to 2017, who will move to a new Alexander Valley production facility in June. The acquisition, which includes 12 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards within Sonoma's Alexander Valley AVA, expands Michael David Winery's presence inCalifornia'sprestigious North Coast wine region. This marks the biggest acquisition by Michael David Winery to date and demonstrates its continued dedication to the North Coast and quality grape growing.

The 2017 Asbury Park Music & Film Festival has announced that Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul have added an additional performance on Friday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m. at the House of Independents in Asbury Park, NJ for a live episode of the public television live music series Front and Center.

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, located at The Graduate Center, CUNY, will highlight works from the classical canon of Arab plays on Wednesday, April 19, and present readings of rarely seen plays by Black playwrights on Monday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 23.

The Muny announced today 21 principal cast members for its 99th season. Full company casting will be announced throughout April. The 2017 Muny season opens with Jesus Christ Superstar followed by Disney's The Little Mermaid and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. The season continues with the premiere of All Shook Up! and a newly re- envisioned The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Season 99 closes with A Chorus Line and the much- anticipated Muny debut of Newsies.

William Peace Theatre closes its 2016 - 17 season with the family-friendly Broadway and West End blockbuster, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This musical production runs one week only, April 20 - 23 in Kenan Auditorium in the Browne-McPherson building on campus at 15 E. Peace St., Raleigh.
