The internationally lauded American pianist Michael Stephen Brown will return to the 33rd season of the Bard Music Festival for two programs.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced its 2023-24 season, which celebrates the passing of the artistic torch and the theme of Legacy, with the final farewell concerts of two esteemed American string quartets, both with long histories at CMS.

New Canadian music stimulates and provokes 'cultural conversations', music with underlying themes that resonate with our time and place. A 'cultural conversation' is a form of storytelling: multiple participants interpret and respond to themes that ponder identities, values, attitudes and issues; and such conversations unfold over time.  The company aim remains to build bridges by bringing people together to explore themes that resonate in their communities.  

The Harmon & Harriet Kelley Collection of African American Art: Works on Paper, an exhibition that celebrates 54 African American artists and their tremendous contributions to U.S. art and culture, continues at Bedford Gallery through December 18.

To showcase the events of two groups of passionate citizens in the 1970s that worked to save the Pier from the Santa Monica City Council's plan to build a 35-acre artificial island in the bay with a bridge connecting it to the Santa Monica freeway, the 'Save The Pier' play free live performances will be held on the West End of the Pier each day on Oct. 20-23 from 7-8:30 p.m.

Dame Patricia Routledge has been announced for the upcoming concert performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's iconic musical CAROUSEL for one night only at Cadogan Hall on Sunday 19th May. She will play the role of the Narrator.

The artistic evolution of an iconic American modernist is the focus of an exhibition now open at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers. Becoming John Marin: Modernist at Work explores the artist's intuitive draftsmanship and innovative work in watercolors. A revelatory look at Marin's work, the exhibition affords a unique opportunity to vicariously watch an artist inspired by his surroundings and responding through drawing. On April 11, the Zimmerli presents a talk about Marin by Josephine Rodgers, who received her Ph.D. in Art History from Rutgers and currently is the Marcia Brady Tucker Fellow in American Paintings and Sculpture at the Yale University Art Gallery. 

The British Museum presents CRW Nevinson: Prints of War and Peace, a new display celebrating a selection of works documenting Nevinson's experiences during the First World War. This free show commemorates the centenary of Nevinson's substantial gift of 25 of his prints to the British Museum in 1918, with a number of works on display for the first time.

Watford Palace Theatre presents Arthur Miller's play Broken Glass, which opens 80 years after the events of Kristallnacht, leading up to the Second World War.
