Leah Ryan's Fund For Emerging Women Writers celebrates ten years of awarding it's prize to women playwrights with 10 X 10: An Evening of 10 Minute Plays Celebrating Ten Years of Winners. The gala event will take place at Cherry Lane Theatre on March 30 and will feature world premiere short plays from past recipients Megan Mostyn Brown, Genia Femia, Jiehae Park, and Eliana Pipes. PAWS/LA, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit agency serving people and pets in need, has announced a one night only benefit event a?" Barrett Foa Has Friends! a?" on Monday, February 24, at 8pm. This very special evening of cabaret at Catalina Jazz Club in Hollywood will feature performances by Foa and some of his most talented friends, including Broadway favorites Laura Bell Bundy, Alex Ellis, Carly Hughes, Chris Mann, and Adam Pascal, with more to be announced. The Bucks County Playhouse is one of the most historic theaters in the country. Its wooden walls practically brim over with a sense of magic, holding within them the vast legacy of performers and creatives who made their impact upon its stage. Names like Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, Neil Simon, Helen Hayes, Angela Lansbury... and that's the short list. One of the people currently contributing to the Playhouse's legacy in a big way is Alexander Fraser, who came onboard the Bucks County Playhouse team as Producing Director in January of 2014.

The Kwanzaa Film Festival presents a special Martin Luther King Jr. Day program, themed 'A Kwanzaa Response to a Hanukkah Tragedy' with a program that focuses on African American-Jewish Relations. The feature presentation is this year's 'Best Film' winner Soul Doctor - the Broadway movie-musical about the life of the 'rock star' rabbi Shlomo Carlbach and his history shaping relationship with music icon Nina Simone.
