Celebrating Broadway’s return, Seth’s Broadway Breakdown will premiere with a press preview on Sunday, September 12, with performances three times a week starting on October 15th. The show will be produced by Asylum NYC’s artistic director, Alan Kliffer.

The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

David Hemsley Caldwell has joined Totem Pole Playhouse as Artistic Director and he is joined by James Nadeau as Interim Executive Director. The appointments were announced January 4, 2021 by Kevin Schoenberger, Chair of the Board of Directors.

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) has announced casting for their upcoming production of the classic comedy You Can't Take it With You. The cast will feature Equity actor Andrew Scott Holmes as Ed Carmichael. Holmes starred in FPAC's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last season. He has traveled the world working in regional theatre and cruise ships alike.

The Muny announced today that Tony and Grammy Award- winning artist Heather Headley and Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated artist Matthew Morrison will serve as co-hosts for The Muny's historic Centennial Gala show, An Evening with the Stars, May 18, 2018 at 9:15 p.m. at The Muny.

The Academy of Country Music® presented the 11th Annual ACM Honors, an evening dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards.

The 24th Annual Merritt Awards for Excellence in Design and Collaboration will take place on Monday, May 15th, 2017 at Loyola University Chicago.Legendary Broadway and Film Costume Designer Ann Roth (The Nance, The Book of Mormon, The English Patient, Midnight Cowboy) will receive the 2017 Merritt Award.

Following its initial casting announcement in April, The Muny announced today additional principal cast members for its spectacular 98th season. The 2016 Muny season opens with The Wizard of Oz followed by 42nd Street and The Music Man. The season includes the premieres of the popular Mel Brooks comedy, Young Frankenstein and world-wide megahit, Mamma Mia!, and closes with Fiddler on the Roof and Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida.

The Wagner College Theatre has announced that the winner of this year's Stanley Drama Award is Mike Bencivenga of Astoria, Queens, N.Y., for his two-act play, 'Bad Hearts.'

They could never leave you. Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner are performing together in NYC for the first time in nearly nine years.  The duo received a Tony Award co-nomination for their role(s) as the conjoined twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton, in the original Broadway production of Side Show; separately, Alice and Emily have starred in numerous other Broadway shows including The Full Monty, Next To Normal, Billy Elliot, The Rocky Horror Show, and many more. Additional performances will take place February 4-6 (7PM) and February 6 (9:30PM) at Feinstein's/54 Below. Cortland Repertory Theatre presents their first mainstage production at 'CRT Downtown', the newly renovated arts center in downtown Cortland. Chosen for this inaugural production is a revival of one of the most successful shows ever staged at CRT, 'Always...Patsy Cline'. Written byTed Swindley, this heart-warming, family-friendly musical features some of Patsy Cline's greatest hits including 'Crazy', 'Walkin' After Midnight', 'I Fall to Pieces' and many more. The production began its three week run last night, October 22. Check out a first look below!

There's really no getting around it, BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL is weird, albeit wonderfully so. It's an audacious musical comedy ripped from the headlines of a supermarket tabloid. Inspired by the on-going Weekly World News articles that began with 1992's 'Bat Child Found in Cave!,' the musical tells the story of a half-bat/half-boy creature feared and tormented by close-minded townsfolk, despite the fact that all he wants to do is learn to be human and find a home. Musicals don't get much weirder than that. But, it is for this very reason that Gen Y Productions has become the most exciting theatre company in Orlando in less than a year of operation. Not only are they willing to do shows that are outside the scope of traditional companies, but they also do them extremely well. BAT BOY, a cult favorite since it debuted Off-Broadway in 2001, is far from a perfect show, but Gen Y's version, directed by Kenny Howard and running through Halloween at The Abbey, just might be as perfect of a production as possible.
