GK Arts Center is proud to host Gelsey Kirkland Ballet's perennial holiday classic, The Nutcracker. This is the fourth year this production of The Nutcracker will be performed over the course of a special two-week engagement, running December 8-18 at the GK Arts Center (29 Jay Street, formerly St. Ann's Warehouse in Dumbo, Brooklyn, N.Y.). The 18-member company is under the artistic direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov.

Berkeley Rep today announced it will host a memorial service honoring actress and director Angela Paton on Monday, July 11 at 7pm. Paton, who passed away in May, appeared in numerous Berkeley Rep productions, including memorable turns as Mary in Long Day's Journey into Night and the cantankerous mother in The Beauty Queen of Leenane. She had a long and successful career in the Bay Area dating back to the 1960s as a principal actor at American Conservatory Theater and she was the founder and artistic director of the Berkeley Stage Company from 1974 to 1984.
