92Y's 17-18 season opens on October 5 with internationally renowned cellist Mischa Maisky joining the “amazing precision” (Huffington Post) of the notably conductorless Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, which returns to 92Y for the first time in 15 years, to celebrate the cellist's 70th birthday season. Together, they open 92Y's illustrious concert season with Schubert's beloved “Arpeggione” Sonata, arranged for cello and string orchestra by Dobrinka Tabakova, as well as Arensky's Variations on a Theme by Tchaikovsky, and Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings.  Acclaimed for the sheer intensity and vigor of his performances, Maisky has the distinct honor of being the only cellist in the world to have studied under both Gregor Piatigorsky and Mlatislav Rostrapovich.  The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is renowned as one of the foremost chamber orchestras in the world, with more than 70 albums in its sprawling discography since its founding in 1972.

Following a successful summer run of Aaron Posner's play Life Sucks, Company of Fools' 22nd season of theatre continues this fall with a production of BRIGHT HALF LIFE by playwright Tanya Barfield. Company of Fools' Interim Artistic Director, Ilana Becker, will direct the play, which runs Sept. 27-Oct. 14, 2017, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey.

The Donmar Warehouse today announced full casting for Elinor Cook's new version of Ibsen's masterpiece The Lady from the Sea. As previously announced Nikki Amuka-Bird will play Ellida, and she is joined by Ellie Bamber, Jake Fairbrother, Jim Findley, Jonny Holden, Finbar Lynch, Tom McKay and Helena Wilson.

Comedians Edward Aczel, Eshaan Akbar, Dan Antopolski, Mitch Benn, Markus Birdman, Jason Byrne, Keith Farnan, Stuart Goldsmith, Darren Hariott, Pete Johansson, Tony Law, Andrew Maxwell, Simon Munnery, Andrew O'Neill and Mark Watson will be performing MANWATCHING at Paines Plough's ROUNDABOUT @ SUMMERHALL at Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.

The Old Vic today announces casting for Queers, a series of eight monologues curated by Mark Gatiss. Staged on 28 and 31 July at The Old Vic, they mark 50 years since the Sexual Offences Act of 1967 began the decriminalisation process for homosexuality between men. Queers celebrates some of the most poignant, funny, tragic and riotous moments of British gay male history over the last century.

11th Hour Theatre Company's 12th season comes to a close with its final Next Step Concert Series performance. This time the series features a new musical by Nathan Christensen and Scott Murphy, Broadcast.  Broadcast comes to the Next Step Concert Series June 23-25. Steve Pacek, 11th Hour's Associate Artistic Director and Co-Founder, directs. Amanda Morton is the Music Director. The Donmar Warehouse announces today two new plays for the 2017 autumn period.  Internationally-acclaimed theatre artist, Yael Farber, makes her Donmar debut directing David Harrower's haunting Knives in Hens with full casting that includes Christian Cook, Judith Roddy and Matt Ryan.  This will be the play's first major London revival since its premiere in 1995, when it instantly established Harrower as one of the UK's leading playwrights. 

Rose Theatre Kingston today announces its autumn 2017 and spring 2018 season.

Jorge Federico Osorio pairs Schubert's final solo piano works with those by Brahms on his seventh and newest Cedille Records album. In doing so, the Mexican-born, European-trained pianist focuses on two composers who have figured prominently in his concert career.

The Old Globe today announced its 2017-2018 Season, which will kick off with the world premiere musical Benny & Joon, with book by Kirsten Guenther, music by Nolan Gasser, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein.
