The acclaimed Hagen Quartet plays two exciting programs in Zankel Hall in March 2019. On Friday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m., they are joined by clarinetist and composer Jorg Widmann for the United States premiere of his Clarinet Quintet (co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall for its 125 Commissions Project) and Mozart's Clarinet Quintet, both featuring the composer as clarinetist. Also on the program are selections from Dvorak's Cypresses. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., there is a pre-concert talk with Jorg Widmann and Hagen Quartet violinist Rainer Schmidt in conversation with Jeremy Geffen, Senior Director and Artistic Adviser, Carnegie Hall.

Uptown Players is proud to present the hilarious musical Disaster! This side-splitting musical celebrates the era of bell-bottoms, platform shoes and the hustle. Written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, with concept by Seth Rudetsky and Drew Geraci, the production runs March 22 through April 7 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater.

Meet fledgling doo-wop singing group the Crooning Crabcakes as they prepare to enter the Big Whopper Radio contest and realize their dreams of making it to the big time, International City Theatre opens its 34th season with the delightful, award-winning jukebox musicalLife Could Be A Dream, written and created by Roger Bean. Directed byJamie Torcellini and with musical direction by Bill Wolfe, performances take place Feb. 22 through March 10 at ICT's home in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center. Two low-priced previews are set for Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.

Incoming Artistic Director Simon Godwin today announces Shakespeare Theatre Company's 2019-2020 Season. Godwin's debut season highlights his artistic aspirations for the company to create high quality, exciting, inclusive theatre. Godwin states, This is not my season, but ours, everybody's season.

The Colorado Music Festival today announced the appointment of conductor Peter Oundjian as its next Music Director. He is the fourth person to hold this title in the 42-year history of the festival, which is held for six weeks each year at the Colorado Chautauqua, a National Historic Landmark at the foot of the rugged Flatirons. Mr. Oundjian led the 2018 festival as Artistic Advisor, and his appointment as Music Director was announced along with the festival's 2019 season, which runs from June 27 to August 3 and explores the legacy of Beethoven.

From February 28 to March 17, Theater for the New City will present comedian/actor/broadcaster Donald E. Lacy Jr. in the New York debut of his one man show, 'ColorStruck.' The play was born in California's Bay Area and has been presented on college campuses around the country and at the National Black Theatre Festival. It was performed twice for the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus.

Producer Mark Cortale has announced the season finale of his series at The Herbst Theatre  - two time Emmy Award winner Sarah Silverman will join Seth Rudetsky on Sunday, May 19th at 8:00 PM for one show only. In this unique series, music director and host Seth Rudetsky welcomes the greatest performers for up-close and personal conversations and singing. The format of the show will be a seamless mix of great comedy/singing by Silverman and hilarious conversation prompted by Rudetsky's funny, insightful and revealing questions. The program features the acclaimed Orion String Quartet in Haydn's String Quartet Op. 50 No. 2 and Mozart's Clarinet Quintet in A major, K.581 performed with clarinetist Alexander Bedenko.

SUPER BOWL GREATEST COMMERCIALS 2019, an interactive countdown special where viewers will be able to vote LIVE via specific hashtags for the All-Time Funniest Super Bowl commercial, will be broadcast Tuesday, Jan. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The special will be hosted by Boomer Esiason, analyst for CBS Sports' NFL pregame show THE NFL TODAY, and Daniela Ruah, star of CBS' NCIS: LOS ANGELES, and will originate from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, home of “Super Bowl LIII.”

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced today that Broadway, film, and television star Rosie O'Donnell will play Mrs. Paroo in the Broadway Center Stage production of Meredith Willson's The Music Man. O'Donnell joins Tony Award® nominee Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess) as Harold Hill and Tony Award®–winning actress Jessie Mueller (Waitress, Carousel, Beautiful) as Marian Paroo in the starry semi-staged concert production directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful, Broadway Center Stage: How to Succeed…) with choreography by Chris Bailey (Jerry Springer: The Opera, The New Yorkers at Encores!) and music direction by James Moore (Miss Saigon, the Kennedy Center's Follies and Ragtime).

As 2018 comes to a close, we are reflecting on those we have lost in the Broadway and theatre communities throughout the year.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theater of color and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce the appointment of five new members to the Board of Directors: Christine Chang, Alex Giza, Andrew Huynh, May Lee, and Nayan Shah. The new appointments hail from diverse backgrounds in law, media, education, e-commerce, and global management, and are avid supporters of the performing arts and Asian American theater. The size of EWP's Board of Directors has increased to 17 members from 12 members last year.

The Donmar Warehouse today announces full casting for Berberian Sound Studio conceived for the stage by Joel Horwood and Tom Scutt. 5th Wall Theatre is thrilled to announce the newest addition to their team. Elizabeth Parks will be joining 5th Wall as its new Public Relations and Marketing Director. Elizabeth comes to 5th Wall by way of Hampden-Sydney College where she most recently worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre.

Laura Little Theatricals and Theater Latte Da present the American premiere production of the off-Broadway premiere of the new musical All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, now playing off-Broadway at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culturein a limited holiday engagement through December 30.
