The Broadway community mourns the loss of Neil Simon, who passed away on August 26 at age 91. The Committee of Theatre Owners has decided to dim the lights of Broadway theatres in his memory on Thursday, August 30 at exactly 6:45pm for one minute.

Christina Applegate will star in upcoming Netflix dark comedy series Dead To Me. Applegate will take on the role of Jen, a poised and put together woman with a dark sense of humor and an anger problem that she doesn't necessarily want to deal with, Jen has been struggling to keep it together in the months since her husband was killed in a hit and run.

The June 23event in Wales, UK will kick off with the Snowdonia Rocks hike to be followed by the Zip World Rocks 2018 concert celebrationwith the goal to raise £20,000 for families affected by cancer in North Wales and beyond. This marks the first-ever festival for Zip World which has teamed with Love Hope Strength Foundation--the charity founded by Mike Peters of internationally acclaimed rock band THE ALARM--for the event.

On September 20, Peter Joback's show 'Med Hjartaat Insats' (With the heart at stake) has premiere at Circus in Stockholm. It has now been revealed the seven people who will create magic together with Peter in the 'circusmanegen' this fall. Peter himself has chosen his dream cast that will complement him in this pop theater. It is a multi-faceted ensemble with seven colorful artists, where everyone has something unique to add to the show. Let us introduce Marianne Morck, Jens Hulten, Elin Konig Andersson, Gunilla Backman, Frida Öhrn, Karl Noremo and Daniel Mauricio.

On this day in 2005, a revival of the classic musical, Sweet Charity opened on Broadway, starring Christina Applegate, who danced the title role just weeks after breaking her ankle during the show's out-of-town tryout.

Single tickets are now on sale for the inaugural REPRISE 2.0 production of Sweet Charity. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the classic Broadway hit plays from June 20 to July 1 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. REPRISE 2.0 is led by producing artistic director Marcia Seligson.

JAG Productions has announced casting for their upcoming production of Lanie Robertson's Tony award-winning play Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill directed by Jarvis Antonio Green (JAG Productions: Choir Boy, Fences, JAGfest), will run from May 24th-May 27th at the Engine Room in White River Junction, May 31st-June 3rd at The Grange Theater in Pomfret and June 7-10 at Main Street Landing's Black Box Theater in Burlington, VT.

Casting is announced for two REPRISE 2.0 productions with two Tony Award leading actress nominees: Laura Bell Bundy (Legally Blonde - Tony Nomination, Hairspray, Anger Management) is to play Charity in Sweet Charity, directed and choreographed by three time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall from June 20 to July 1, and Carmen Cusack (Bright Star - Tony Nomination, Wicked) is to play Victoria Grant in Victor/Victoria directed by Richard Israel and choreographed by John Todd from September 5 to 16 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

THE BLACK BOX Broadway Series presents Tyler Hanes in concert on Friday, April 27 at 8 p.m. Hanes performs a solo one-night-only show at the downtown Franklin venue, following his starring role as Rum Tum Tugger in the highly acclaimed Broadway revival of Cats.

Cleveland Play House (CPH) is proud to announce the cast of the high-spirited, interactive musical comedy The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Broadway and TV actress Ali Stroker (Glee, Deaf West's Production of Spring Awakening) joins Broadway veterans Kirsten Wyatt (Annie, Elf, Shrek), John Scherer (Sunset Boulevard, By Jeeves, Funny Girl), Lee Slobotkin, Chad Burris (both of Book of Mormon), Kay Trinidad Karns (Little Mermaid), and more in this laugh-out-loud musical directed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge on the Allen Stage through May 6th. REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite. 

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a three-week extension for Jerry Springer - The Opera, with Matt McGrath appearing as Jerry Springer beginning March 13.  Terrence Mann, currently appearing in the role of Jerry Springer, plays his final performance March 11 due to an existing commitment beyond that date.
