Based on Ray Bradbury's classic novel that explores the origins of Halloween, composer Theo Popov and librettist Tony Asaro take us on an epic journey as a group of children search for their friend Pipkin, who has mysteriously disappeared on Halloween night. Rehearsals begin today for the European premiere of David Bowie and Enda Walsh's LAZARUS, ahead of preview performances from Tuesday 25 October in a brand new 900-seater venue at Kings Cross Theatre built specifically for the production. Playing for 13 WEEKS ONLY until Sunday 22 January 2017, LAZARUS will have its official opening night on Tuesday 8 November 2016.

For the first time since opening our doors at ArtsWest Playhouse and Gallery in 1999, the total number of season subscriptions before the season openshas surpassed the prior year's end-of-season total. Subscriptions goals are normally met or surpassed by the end of a given season, but this year we are celebrating before the season even begins. There are other reasons why 2016 is a remarkable year for ArtsWest: in addition to a record-setting revenue for season subscribers, the number of subscribers is at an all-time high for any season opening in our history.

The 2016 Music Circus season concludes with the Northern California premiere of a new musical from the mind of Victor Hugo, inspired by one of the most epic stories ever told: The Hunchback of Notre Dame. This daring production sets the classic tale of love, vengeance, and compassion to one of the most sweeping scores ever written for the stage. It's the only stage collaboration between two masters of American musical theatre, Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast) and Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin).
