A love triangle for the ages meets a new adaptation for today in Lerner & Loewe's CAMELOT at Lyric Stage.

Jonathan Eaton, longtime Artistic and General Director of Pittsburgh Festival Opera (formerly Opera Theater of Pittsburgh) is taking on a new position in addition to his duties as Artistic Director in Pittsburgh. In August 2107 Eaton will also become the Professor of Music and Margot and Bill Winspear Chair in Opera Studies at the University of North Texas in Dallas, which boasts one of largest and most respected music colleges in the country.

Since the big screen adaptation of CHICAGO took home an Academy Award more than a decade ago, movie musicals have seen a resurgence, with varying levels of success. There have been huge hits, like last year's LA LA LAND, and big disappointments, like 2009's NINE. While online video store Netflix doesn't have nearly as large of a collection of movie musicals as most Broadway fans would like, they do have a selection worth chilling with. The Guthrie Theater today announced the final two of nine productions to be offered as part of the theater's 2017-2018 subscription season: Indecent, a new play with music by Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive), conceived by Vogel and Rebecca Taichman; and the Guthrie's first production of the iconic American musical West Side Story, directed by Joseph Haj.

The best-selling Russian crime fiction writer Boris Akunin's new stage adaptation of Shakespeare's HAMLET will debut this spring Off-Broadway when Red Lab Productions and Roust Theatre Company present HAMLET. A VERSION, with previews beginning April 21, prior to the official press opening on April 25 at The Theater at St. Clement's (423 W. 46 St.) in New York City. HAMLET. A VERSION is directed by Irina Gachechiladze. The production features original music by Georgian composer Giya Kancheli.

Actor's Express announces its 30th Anniversary Season with one of its most ambitious seasons to date, plus the return of one of the most iconic musicals in its history.

David Mirvish, Michael Harrison, John Reid and Paul Elliott are delighted to present the Canadian premiere of the new British musical MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS, based on the smash-hit film.  Performances begin Wednesday March 15 through April 23 at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre.  Media night is Wed March 22, 2017

The York Theatre Company, announces the Off-Broadway premiere of the new musical Marry Harry, with book by Jennifer Robbins (Hudson River Blues) and music and lyrics by Dan Martin and Michael Biello (In My Body, The Cousins Grimm). Directed and choreographed by York favorite Bill Castellino (Cagney, Storyville), performances are set to begin Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 21, 2017

Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl, winner of the 2016 Steinberg Distinguished Playwright Award and a MacArthur 'genius' grant, will be directed by Courtney O'Connor at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, opening February 26 and running through March 26, 2017. Previews begin February 24. 

The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado, celebrating its 30th season, for the Orchestra's 15th annual summer residency, July 21-28, 2017. The residency will include six orchestral concerts that honor the Philharmonic's legacy on the occasion of its 175th anniversary season and the conclusion of Alan Gilbert's tenure as Music Director.
