Fresh off a cross-country tour, John Strand's critically-acclaimed political drama The Originalist, based on the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, returns to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater under the direction of Artistic Director Molly Smith.

 The Mountain Play Association, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, will present the timeless classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Jay Manley for their 104th season. Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tells the story of a monstrous prince and a young woman who fall in love. Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will take place every Sunday from May 21 to June 18, 2017.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will slay audiences at Atlanta Opera next June, starring Tony Award winner Shuler Hensley in his company debut in the title role. Meredith Arwady will sing the role of Mrs. Lovett.

Skylight Music Theatre closes the 2016-17 season with Stephen Sondheim's Tony-Award winning Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Kansas City Repertory Theatre announced today that the musical phenomenon SWEENEY TODD: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street has been added to its 2017-2018 season in the final mainstage slot.
