In a show of semi-permanent appreciation, ROCK OF AGES honored of one of its most dedicated fans and winner of its holiday 'Deck the Halls Extreme Rock' contest, Gavin Knox, this month. For the Christmas challenge, the production invited fans to submit a performance video of a holiday carol, sung in the rockin' style of the hit show. The winner was selected by ROCK OF AGES cast members, including Constantine Maroulis, Kerry Butler, and James Carpinello. The prize package included a pair of tickets to the performance, a backstage tour, a curtain call ovation, dinner for two at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, a copy of the original cast recording, and a Temptu tattoo, applied by the show's make-up artist, worn by the cast members on stage each night.

According the the LA Times, Broadway LA has announced the 2010-2011 lineup for the Pantages Theatre. HAIR, SHREK THE MUSICAL, WEST SIDE STORY and ROCK OF AGES will all hit the Pantages stage this season in Hollywood.

Ralph Bakshi will return to Animazing Gallery in SoHo for a reception where his altogether new series of fine art paintings will be debuted in an exhibition entitled THE STREETS. This bold series of mixed-media construction/paintings was inspired by the gritty and colorful neighborhoods of Bakshi's youth in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The Broadway rock musical sensation 'Rock of Ages' will make its Australian premiere in April 2011 with a run scheduled for Melbourne's Comedy Theatre, as per an announcement today from Tourism and Major Events Minster Tim Holding.

The stars of Broadway's ROCK OF AGES have banded together to raise funds for World Vision, a humanitarian fund that has been in Haiti for 30 years in an effort to contribute to the country's relief. Stars Kerry Butler, Lauren Molina and James Carpinello introduce the fundraiser in the video below. The production will be auctioning off items, the first of which is a backstage tour with Butler. Houston Ballet presents American at Heart, featuring two ballets that are significant to the history American dance (George Balanchine's Apollo and Jerome Robbins's Fancy Free) and one work inspired by American popular culture and created specifically for an American company (Christopher Bruce's Hush, choreographed for Houston Ballet in 2006). The production will run March 11th through March 21st, 2010.
