Today Speedy Ortiz announces its new full-length album and first release in two years. In the Fall of 2016, Speedy Ortiz went to Brooklyn's Silent Barn to record what they thought would be their third LP, but following election day they knew they had to change course. 'The songs on the album that were strictly personal or lovey dovey just didn't mean anything to me anymore--that's not the kind of music I've found healing or motivating in the past few years, and I was surprised I'd written so much of it,' explains front person Sadie Dupuis. 'Social politics and protest have been a part of our music from day one, and I didn't want to stop doing that on this album.' So the band scrapped the album they made, Dupuis wrote more songs over the course of four months, and Speedy Ortiz created the urgent, taught, and pointedly witty Twerp Verse, out April 27th on Carpark. The wait is nearly over - Green Day's explosive award-winning Broadway phenomenon American Idiot arrives in Melbourne in 2 weeks. This high-octane rock musical kicks off at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre from 23 February after already rocking audiences and critics on its National tour in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.

Anna Francolini and Gerard Horan will join previously announced Jonny Labey, Zizi Strallen and Will Young in the company for Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical. Based on Baz Luhrmann's classic film that inspired the world to dance, Strictly Ballroom The Musical will begin performances at the Piccadilly Theatre on Thursday 29th March 2018 (Press Night Tuesday 24th April).

A January 'Gathering' of young and old, from communities all over Cork and beyond who love to dance, will take to the floor in City Hall, to the 'Savoy Hotel' style music of Evelyn Grant and the Cork Pops Orchestra. The Lord Mayor's Tea Dance, hosted by Cllr. Tony Fitzgerald, Lord Mayor of Cork, is a not-for-profit initiative organised by a local committee of people from the public, private and voluntary sectors. The committee is chaired by Dr. Andrew Crosbie.

Initial casting has been announced for the upcoming West End production of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom. Jonny Labey and Zizi Strallen will lead the cast of the stage adaptation, joined by Will Young who takes on the role of band leader.

Strictly Come Dancing's charismatic Brendan Cole will take to the stage in 2018 to wow audiences with his latest spectacular production from PMB Presentations, All Night Long is back by popular demand following a hugely successful and critically acclaimed run earlier this year and will open at Sheffield City Hall on 18 Jan touring venues until April.
