DOVE' Chocolate Extends CARE' Partnership To Empower Women In Cocoa Farming Communities

Today, DOVE Chocolate announced a partnership extension with CARE , a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. Since 2015, DOVE Chocolate has supported the development of small female-driven enterprises in cocoa farming communities using CARE Village Savings & Loan Associations (VSLA) methodology. The evolution of the VSLA program is the linkage of members to a formal Micro-Finance Institution (MFI) that will increase financial access to participating women and men in Cote d'Ivoire.

Orchestra Of St. Luke's Expands Its 2018–2019 Orchestral Season

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) today announced additional details of its 2018-2019 season-the Orchestra's 44th-including its signature Chamber Music Series, Music in Color, and Free School Concerts celebrating the Jerome Robbins centenary. The previously announced 32nd-annual subscription series presented by Carnegie Hall opening on October 25 will mark the official start of Bernard Labadie's tenure as Principal Conductor of the Orchestra. The series will feature a season-long focus on Haydn, a specialty of both the conductor and the Orchestra.

Another all-star cast has been assembled for the second concert in this record-breaking 18th season of Town Hall's signature series,Broadway by the Year. After February's triumphant season opener, Town Hall's next concert on March 26th at 8pm will star Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita who has won fans across the length and breadth of Broadway with her starring roles in Matilda & Dames at Sea. She will be joined by Broadway favorites, Tony Yazbeck (Tony Award nominee for On the Town) and Emily Skinner (Tony Award nominee for Side Show). The Lone Star Film Society & Fort Worth Opera (FWOpera) announced today a free screening of Billy Wilder's Oscar-winning film Sunset Boulevard at The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth on April 11, 2018 at 7:30 PM. Cinema and opera collide in this exciting new event, featuring a multimedia talk by opera director Chuck Hudson, and a performance by FWOpera-TCU Hattie Mae Lesley Apprentice Artist Bronwyn White. Not only will audiences get a sneak peek of FWOpera's dazzling, 1950s Hollywood production of Donizetti's Don Pasquale, inspired by Sunset Boulevard, but for one night only, film lovers will get a chance to view this critically acclaimed classic on the big screen.

Zürich Chamber Orchestra Presents VIVALDI'S THE FOUR SEASONS — THEN AND NOW

Classic and contemporary will meet in concert Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m., in the Virginia G. Piper Theater at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. That's when the Zurich Chamber Orchestra performs Vivaldi's famous cycle of violin concertos, The Four Seasons, along with a recent take on that famous score, Vivaldi Recomposed, a rewrite of The Four Seasons by German-born British composer Max Richter (1966 - ). Zurich Chamber Orchestra music director Daniel Hope will serve as violin soloist for both pieces.

An all-star cast full of Tony, Drama Desk, and Nightlife Award winners and nominees will launch The Town Hall's 18thSeason of Broadway by the Year® on February 26 at 8pm. Tony Award winners Chuck Cooper (The Life) and Tonya Pinkins (Jelly's Last Jam) lead the 2/26 cast, joined by Tony Award nominee Emily Skinner (Side Show), Drama Desk Honoree Danny Gardner (Dames at Sea), Drama Desk Nominee Kerry O'Malley (Into the Woods), Nightlife Award Winner Scott Coulter, and featuring former Broadway Rising Star Pedro Coppeti. Now in its 46th year of innovative concerts in New York, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra today announces programming for its 2018-19 season, driven by the concept of Now Hear This, canonical repertoire reimagined in the context of here and now. Orpheus reimagines the past, present, and future of the chamber orchestra with three concerts presented in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall and two concerts presented by the 92nd Street Y. Orpheus is joined this season by an illustrious group of international soloists including pianists Nobuyuki Tsujii and Javier Perianes and the Avi Avital and Ksenija Sidorova Duo at Carnegie Hall, as well as cellist Steven Isserlis and harpsichordist Mahan Esfahani at 92nd Street Y. As part of Orpheus' ongoing American Notes commissioning initiative, two new pieces Benjamin Wallfisch's Concerto for Mandolin and Accordion and a work by James Matheson receive their world premieres next season.
