Actor/cabaret singer Stephanie Trudeau will perform an updated version of her docu-cabaret musical, 'Chavela: Think Of Me,' at Don't Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street, April 12 and May 17.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced the titles for its 2019-2020 Season at The Otto M. Budig Theater in an event on March 6.  This season will feature Women, on stage and off, in The Season of the Woman.  CSC's 2018-2019 Season is generously sponsored by The Otto M. The recording is inspired by America's cultural awakening at the end of the First World War one hundred years ago and the distinctly American musical styles that reflect the country's diversity. This album celebrates and reimagines popular songs of this era that remain fresh and relevant today with acclaimed musical collaborators including Rhiannon Giddens, Steep Canyon Rangers and Pokey LaFarge. The 95th Cincinnati Pops album was recorded live at Cincinnati Music Hall November 10- 12, 2017, and is being released on the Orchestra's label, Fanfare Cincinnati.

In his earliest memory, my grandfather is four years old. The year is 1919 and he stands on his tenement building in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where he watches an army parade. Soldiers are returning from the Great War, and eternal peace on Earth seems possible.

Actor/cabaret singer Stephanie Trudeau will perform a return engagement of her docu-cabaret, 'Chavela: Think Of Me,' at Pangea Supper Club, 178 Second Ave. (East Village), June 26 at 7:30 PM. She had debuted the piece there on May 15 and has been invited back in response to the appreciation of her audience and an enthusatic review.

The New York Philharmonic will present Rachmaninoff: A Philharmonic Festival, tonight, November 10-28, 2015, featuring 24-year-old Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov performing three of the composer's piano concertos and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini over the course of three consecutive all-Rachmaninoff programs, each led by a different conductor: Cristian Macelaru (in his Philharmonic debut), Neeme Jarvi, and Ludovic Morlot.

'Eric Bentley's Brecht-Eisler Songbook,' the debut CD from soprano actress Karyn Levitt, will be available from Roven Records today, October 30.

The 18th Long Island Al Jolson Festival coming up on August 16 is a whole-day affair featuring film presentations, lectures, memorabilia displays and sales, and a performance--'The Heart of Al Jolson'--by singer and Staten Island native Tony Babino (photo below), who can sing Jolson songs like, well, you ain't heard nothin' yet.
