NYC's The Men have made a name for themselves as wayfaring musicians, constantly evolving and eluding their listeners. Before they were genre-hopping through country, post-punk, noise rock, and more, they were applying that experimental nature within the more confined space of punk. Within that genre they were wildly adventurous, playing noise shows, hardcore shows, rock shows, and switching up the instrumentation as they saw fit, while always operating within a general punk ethos.

KCRW announced today the line-up for the 2018 Masquerade, L.A.'s iconic Halloween extravaganza, featuring Santigold (DJ Set), White Denim, Wajatta, D?M-FunK, Cherry Glazerr, Shannon Shaw, Brothers Griiin, Lucent Dossier, as well as KCRW DJs Gary Calamar, Raul Campos, Chris Douridas, Jose Galvan, Marion Hodges, Travis Holcombe, Anne Litt, Liza Richardson, Jeremy Sole, Anthony Valadez, and Dan Wilcox, on Saturday, October 27, from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., at the historic Los Angeles Theatre. KCRW's Masquerade, dubbed “legendary” by Time Out, and “the best costume party in town” by Edge is a feast for the senses, a glamorous and gritty mash-up of eccentricity, featuring DJs, bands, special musical guests, performance artists, and much more.

David Tennant to Appear at Wizard World Austin 2018

David Tennant, who starred as the 'Tenth Doctor' on the long-running series 'Doctor Who,' has been added to the celebrity roster at this month's Wizard World Austin convention at the Austin Convention Center. He will appear on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22, as Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) continues its 2018 schedule with its ninth event in Austin. Wizard World events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. Two of the country's leading contemporary dance venues are teaming up to commission brand new family friendly shows to be presented during the Christmas period of 2018 and 2019. The Place and DanceEast have commissioned Luca Silvestrini's Protein and Vicki Igbokwe's Uchenna Dance's to create the shows. It will be the first time Vicki Igbokwe has created a work for families, and the first time Luca Silvestrini has used an existing story as his starting point. The project also marks the first time The Place has commissioned a show for the festive season.
