Technology has transformed our lives, but despite its many promises, it hasn't yet saved us from the perils of a warming climate.  Shifts in society have often come from art, but will they be able to mobilize change this time around?  Pioneers in technology, business and the arts will gather this October in San Francisco to examine our collective response to the climate challenge.

BlackRock Center for the Arts, providing opportunities to explore, celebrate and engage in the arts, invites you to join us for an anniversary season to ignite your inner joy and love of the arts. TheatreWorks Silicon Valley will resume in-person performances when it launches its previously announced 51st season, featuring eight plays and musicals presented October 2021 through August 2022, kicking off with the new indie folk-rock musical Lizard Boy.

Theatre West's Studio City-adjacent home on Cahuenga Blvd. West, the oldest continuous operating stage space in Los Angeles, has been saved by an anonymous “angel.” A longtime Theatre West patron has purchased the building, occupied by the company since 1967 but up for sale since May, and extended Theatre West's lease for a minimum of five years.

Anthony Anderson, Ken Jeong & Tran Ho, and Sofia Vergara will also join as cohosts. Common and Brittany Howard are the first of many to be announced as performers during the special evening.

Kelli O'Hara appeared last night as the first guest on Seth Rudetsky's online concert series STARS IN THE HOUSE. Seth and his husband, producer James Wesley, began by sharing that the series was conceived as a way to bring happiness and hope during this time of uncertainty.

With creative spaces at a premium throughout the Triangle, Burning Coal Theatre Company would like to announce the Four Corners Project, which will begin in its 2020/2021 season. This project will make available the Murphey School space for one week, four times a year to creative individuals or companies with innovative and exciting projects.  The projects should be either performance or visual art-related and should not involve a fee for its participants.  The projects do not have to include a performance, though they may, but should be focused on exploring issues around performance or the creation of art. Nothing is too 'out there'!

How Does Theatre Mirror Society? will be explored along with drawing on the panelists' experiences and perspectives on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Topics of the 17th annual Theatre Forward Broadway Roundtable will include an open-ended dialogue about opportunity, access, education and social justice. Panelists all share a passion for the power of storytelling and how it reflects and influences our world.
